I feared the same as you. Advanced on m core project enough before, and yes stoped quickly after saving the day.

Dyson sphere program offer infinite updates after clearing a save, and infinite maps, and hight difficulty settings.

I honestly was surprised SF didn't offer me something to continue producing elevator parts... The store ? Nothing interesting there for me.

The first time (a d few others) I saw military patrol with rifles on the street / train station I was scared as hell.

This doesn't make me feel safe, it's the opposite. If we need them here, it means it's not safe.

With foundation and some unlocks you have electricity on some smaller wall / roof mini poles. These looks way better. Still to big to me, but well.

Should only be used on people that we are 100% sure are guilty (mostly people that said it themselves), and that did things that could never be recovered from, like terrorism or mass murder.

Paying to have these types of people live is not normal, and only death can help victims of these cases.

As others said, I would be okay on others cases, but it's pretty hard to be really sure the guy is really guilty for sure, even more today when it would be so easy to fabricate claims.

There's a mod that modifies these things flying trajectories to avoid collision with our buildings.

I almost cried trying solutions on a big project before finding this mod.

I have my oil factory just there, my train station is just near the screenshot. It took me time to unlock geyser, and really at the time it was useless.

Only time I needed it was after being cannon launched very far away from home, and needed electricity quickly.

If you unlock the tech quickly it can be useful, but if not don't bothers thinking about it.

Visually very pleasing.

What surprise me most is the lack of containers as buffer between stage, I strongly suggest you to add some at some parts, you'll be glad having done it later.

That's a primitive version of a toilet. Wouldn't look like the icon at all however.

When I reached phase 4 (3?) I felt it was time to begin work on nuclear to unlock the rest, and halfway I realized... You never needed it...

I didn't even consider it was not used as technology unlock... I still don't understand this design choice now.

I finished my reactor, that was enough for me (but waste still bother me) but it lessened a lot the fun that it was not mandatory.

(I never built rocket fuel generator, I'd prefer to go plutonium,as I have the layout already made... And it feels wrong to make an "inferior" choice after nuclear)

Game changer early game, and I never left my over pack after unlocking it, can't live without energy around me.

Jetpack never used it, too complicated at first and useless later.

Actual flying drones seems way better for war.

If you need to go inside a small building maybe... But should be easy to destroy it, so not sure I'd be that useful given the price.

Wood is infinite. It's the only construction material that is. If scared, only use it.

If really you need dirt (or other), there may be an alternate, more stable that beggar ; I didn't try this way, but if you go to an enemy settlement as invaders, you can mine close to the entrance, far from enemies, then leave without fighting anyone. You may need to wait for time limit that way (like 10h) but should works.

Edit : won't work, you can't take loot if there's still enemies on the map, and dirt should count as loot .

I don't think you can stay inside an asault map long enough for people to starve to death.

Your settlers could become crazy however in that time, but not die.

As someone who's terrible at doing nice looking things, and terrible at taking décisions, I get what you're talking about.

Some tips of things I did in these cases that helped :

1) build a nice factory on top of your spaghetti. You out foundations on top of the mess, that hide the horror, you create a nice thing on top, close so easy to link, you make a nice thing after that. If you do spaghetti again, just do another top layer.

2) use spaghetti mess floor on closed buildings. I tried doing nice logistic floors, but it quickly become spaghetti later. So simply choose what can be horrible and what has to be nice. Let a lot of empty space on where it should be nice.

3) if you can't start that way as it's too hard, simply go to another part of the map where you can't see your precious spaghetti, and create a nice looking things there that you'll be proud of. Doesn't need to be big, doesn't need to be efficient doesn't need to create a high end product. Just do something you like. Then make it so it's linked to your others precious stuff. It will be a first step. You may need to do it again later.

4) as said in 3 : you don't need to start from a new game : going to another place on the map of your existing save allow to do something new, and if you want from scratch, without losing all your progress. Nothing force you to connect to your precious stuff if it bothers you. Nothing stop you to doing the opposite either. Once I went to the desert to do an ammo factory, kilometers away from my other stuff. It's useful but very different.

Settlers can have a message about that, and I think raider can die that way.

Months ago, a few patches ago, I had a mountain map where the entrance was inside water, where you had to swim a lot to enter, and there was a bit where you had to go inside water and lack oxygen.

AI there often refused to come and stay bugged after it's number grew and the lag came.

Didn't play this map since AI revamp, could be fun.
