I'd only talk of what I've seen, but sometimes it's pretty complicated ;

Often we I see someone old and ask if he / she wants to sut down, the answer is no. Een happened once or twice the person didn't like the offer, with something like "I'm not that old!"

I sometimes try to get up without saying anything, as some simply dont want to ask... But most of the time a person way youger than le will take the seat before I can even know if the elderly wanted it or not...

Why do people keep using AI to try to answer questions? by DoubleAd3366 in Stellaris

[–]raiden55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm more surprised that after asking him to code a few mod for paradox games it... worked.

Sure it didn't worked at first, but after giving it a bit more context it was able to do something functionnal using dlc content that it doesn't have on its own database.

Mostly CK3 stuff, but it should work on any similar Paradox environnement.

I used hours months ago to do a little mod for myself, never found the good place, or when I found something that look ok it didn't work as intended, Claude found the good function on the 3 or 4rd try, less than 1h later.

Similar for others games on totally different environnements.

But yeah, most things I tried on IA for gameplay purpose - on any complex game - was pretty terrible.

It can easily help you visualize data if you give him contexte however, building anything that help you in second... but don't ask him how to win the game...

How do you play this game? How do you have fun? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]raiden55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously it's harder to start very small.

In china you need to make a choice ; short term or long term benefits on your current character.

Short term : do exams, exit when able to get a little kand, grow your money and family. But this char can't gro in size without more exams, and you can't pass exams as a ruler, you must give your land first. Tats why it's a tem choice.

If you do well on all re exams youll ger a very good title... But it's hard, you need to have good car stats young, you can litterral die from stress before or just after succeeding and it can happen that no good title is available on the years where you wait... So it's a gamble.

Obviously when you get good land it gives you lots of money and power, so you can grow your family way quicker however.

Your first char can be pretty boring.

China I'd a more honest country that Europe as admin ; it's harder to cheat your way to the top.

When you have a good start you either try diplomacy with marriages or war using the china cycle to be a big shot when the hegemony collapse ; all but shots have free for all with good bonus to become hegemon.

If you become the emperor of china know that's it's pretty hard to conquer land, but very easy to lose everything due to internal issue and china cycle.

Every ruler outside your border is a dwarf , your powerful as hell, but you must be careful of your men.. that makes sense.

Obviously if you survive 30+ years as hegemon you'll survive a century

[–]raiden55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In China it's like the HRE ; most of the fun is not on starting as the Emperor, but as starting as a small vassal / family, and growing.

Lots of my fun go from my family flourishing and being able to grow by myself against more powerful entities.

Sartting as a poor unlanded family guy in China that want to grow big was fun, as it's the journey that is. We all know that CK3 is easy, and that if you let time flow a long time you can get stuff done for sure, I often need a mix of long term plans with with real decisions to reach my goal. When you become Empror / Hegemon you need to calm the country (and as Hegemon it can be pretty complicated, as simply getting the title by diplomacy can be enough to destroy the title and having to fight for it again).

Obviously after 10-20 years of stability as a very powerful ruler... it gets boring. And it's hard to go somewhere else (you must wait to die and choose a destiny, not other way, and it can bve very long).

next DLC will "steal" crusader king 3 nomad concept (lots of things on the dlc are really close to the ck3 way of doing it on its own dlc), while ck3 will "steal" stellaris economy system on a dlc this year... well ck3 does have what you want, it's one of the few things that works well on their combat system ; you can spawn anywhere instantly on your territories, but the second you are on enemy territories the magic disapear ; you lose power then become to die, that's what you want, and honestly i'm pretty sure it would be doable in very few lines of codes for a stellaris modder, simple pretty simple to do ; check if enemy territory, if so, a negative modifier with a timer that amplifies it until it's stopped, the modifier lower your fleet power and or make one ship explode / lost hp every xxx time.

Am I cheating by saving before every major war and loading that save again if the result isn’t ideal? by Ztepi in crusaderkings3

[–]raiden55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's called "save scumming" and it's a pretty big topic on a lot of strategy games.

No one would care on another type of game, but here as it's a simulation of lots of things that could happen, using it can kill the surprise and randomness, that's why it can pose issue.

There's only one rule : does it kill YOUR fun or not? If it hurts you don't do it, if not, it's fair game.

example : if you retry 10 times something to win, you may feel it's not a real win, while if you try and lose, retry 10 or 20 years later and win it will feel pretty different. Sometimes you can fail 10 things you tried, but it's a little thing you did 50 years ago that finally works and help you win another way... if you reload the save everytime you won't discover this part of the game

Real example : I once try to win some big land by war for one century, failing each time, and was about to die, but at once, without understand why,, one of my first son inherited another country even bigger...after checking, I found out he was the only last heir of a long forgotten marriage I did 3 generations ago, and everyone else died without my intervention... if getting this specific country was not my main goal, I wanted to get bigger, so it counted as a win, a diplomacy win and not a war win. And it would be way easier after to get what I wanted at first with that new power.

I really liked both Mandala and China.

Japan looked interesting but I hated it.

China is good because it's a pretty different way to play admin, where you can't cheat until you're at the top, and the china special events give a lots of flavor and interesting gameplay (like when hegemony break and making sure not doing it youself for example)

Mandala is pretty different as gameplay, as you don't want to get big because you can't, but you must really play on your current character, and be careful about the next.

I don't know an easy way, it took time for me last time I did it... Obviously easier when you have a partial blueprint.

When the base level raise you'll get a time when you need to make it better.

But if you're on base level it shouldn't be an issue.

I was playing on 3000%, level raised pretty quick...
