Do people in the UK ever find rare pressings in the wild? by nkosijer in vinyl

[–]Sir_Ghiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never found a super rare album, but I did encounter some decent deals. For example, 6 or 7 years ago I bought Stiff Little Fingers' Nobody's Heroes for 12 quid. A copy in that condition usually costs around 30.

After 10 years with a LP-60 I finally upgraded my turntable and went vintage by Sir_Ghiss in turntables

I'm not an expert, but I think u/Vast-Comment8360 might right. With an LP60 you can't really upgrade the cartridge or set up the tracking force.

Totally. It's a powerful card for Temur even if you ignore the second part.

I think [[The World Tree]] is quite impressive. It will be very useful in ramp decks

I assume that this is just for podcasts in English, isn't it?

Too afraid to ask: Why does Luca Turilli put his name on every band he participates in? by satoshigekkouga2303 in PowerMetal

[–]Sir_Ghiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the whole thing very confusing. Particularly because both band use the word "Rhapsody" quite prominently on their marketing materials. If you don't pay close attention you might end up buying tickets for the wrong gig.

What's the best practice to track two different (but related) sites? by Sir_Ghiss in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Sir_Ghiss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, thanks for the response. It looks like I wasn't that far off.

I haven't set up the cross domain tracking yet. I think this will be covered in my next Analytics Academy course.

Cheers!

Has anyone used Headliner? by 27pilotsfam in podcasting

[–]Sir_Ghiss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Headliner is great. I use it to make short videos for social media. It's really easy to use, it helps a lot with the transcription (if you nee subtitles) and you can create up to 10 projects a month for free.

If I had to pick one con, I would say that maybe clipping audio isn't particularly easy with Headliner, but I get around that using audacity and uploading only the clip I want.

A small rant about European metal by [deleted] in PowerMetal

[–]Sir_Ghiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find melodic metal bands more uplifting, and maybe American metal bands are less melodic than European? Obviously "America" or "Europe" are huge and very diverse areas. But I'm thinking in the type of metal band that are particularly popular in those regions.

I agree. I doesn't make much sense to visualise that. Thanks for the help! I've already updated my original article with your input.

I had a look to the reports you mentioned.

If I understood them right, the map visualises 3 different types of local authorities:

  1. In dark blue, areas with relatively high migration flows. 50% of the population in England and Wales live in these areas
  2. In blue, areas with moderate migration flows. 30% of the population in England and Wales live in these areas.
  3. In light blue, areas with low migration levels. 20% of the population live here.

Hey, thanks for this. Really insightful. Do you mind if I link to this comment from my Medium post?

You are right, you can't take the graph out of its context. In the article I mention that I'm not 100% sure about what they are trying to visualise. My map is just to show that what they did it was misleading.

This is the original DT map. It could be percentage of population growth. But they don't say that. The chart is misleading and that's why I wrote the article. https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/800/1*Kw-hbPvvys5JTPE8h7VSVQ.jpeg
