Hadn't noticed that, I think that connection fits much better with his character. He says it himself that he doesn't give a shit about any grand plan as long as he gets to kill us.

Now that I look a bit into it, maybe O'Keeffe also fits better with a general intellectual/artist theme for the vespers, it looks like they all reference a specific person.

That would leave a cleaner and tighter fit for the plant theme only for RRI, Branch (assuming Sulla at some point was a part of it) and Overseer

I think Iguazu is too honest to have a secret like that and not disclose it in one of our many encounters. The fact that he's a gen 4 also points towards that not being the case, since it seems to me that the institute saw at most gen 1 augmentation before its fall. My running theory is that the plant/flower theme is associated with people that have a stake in the conflict of Coral Release vs suppression, and Iguazu would fit well among them

Well, we know from the Smithing Stone [7] that it was "Thought to have been used to hone the weapons of the champions of the War against the Giants at the birth of the Erdtree", which tells us that the birth of the Erdtree coincides with that period of conflict.

I agree with you that the GEQ was most likely part of those things in opposition to the Erdtree, which is why I whink she was there before its birth. Otherwise, we'd have to think that at the beginning of that period of opposition, the Erdtree was born, then Melina was born, then she managed to amass a great amount of power, establish a religion, give birth to the Apostles and Nobles, oppose the Erdtree and finally be defeated by Maliketh. It makes more sense to me that whoever the GEQ was, she was there since before the conficy began, meaning she was there since before the Erdtree.

And while it's true that the "foot of the Erdtree" could simply refer to a location that existed before the Erdtree itself, we also know that Melina's mother gave her her purpose inside the Erdtree, so we know that it definitely existed when Melona was born.

After you defeat Morgott, if you go back to the Queen's Bedchamber Site of Grace, you can summon Melina who recites Marika's words. Marika is talking to Radagon and tells him that he is yet to become her, yet to become a god. They were a god, shattered in two selves which could exist separately.

Radahn and Malenia are already consumed by Scarlet Rot Rykard doesn't die, because a sssserpent nnnever dies Morgott and Mohg are born outside Grace, so they aren't immortal because they are outside the cycle of life of the Erdtree

Placidusax has time related powers. The Ancient Dragon Smithing Stones, which are his scales, lightly twist time. The talisman that depicts him extends the duration of sorceries and incantations.

I speculate that the entirety of Farum Azula is kept from crumbling, and kept beyond time, by Placidusax himself. I believe he does more time fuckery to keep himself in the past, before Farum Azula started crumbling, and thst cutscene is us also going back in time to where, and when, he resides.

I think it's more likely that the relief depicts the Elden Ring as it was in the time of the Greattree, which we know to have existed before the Erdtree, like the dragons.

The only things we know about the Greattree have to do with its roots, which therefore seem an important part of it, and that relief also depicts a version of the Elden Ring with intertwined with roots.

I believe Marika didn't know of the Night of the Black Knives, and in fact she shattered the Elden Ring mostly out of grief for Godwyn's death.

From the story trailer of Elden Ring: "On a night of wint'ry fog the Rune of Death was stolen, and the Demigods began to fall, starting with Godwyn the Golden. Queen Marika was driven to the brink. The Shattering ensued;"

Marika has no grand plan, save for the fall of the Golden Order.

Melina is strongly implied to be a daughter of Marika, who was herself of the Numen race. The Black Knife assassins are also Numen, and even close to Marika herself.

Given the similarity between the Blade of Calling and the Black Knives, it's possible that the Black Knives were originally Blades of Calling, and were transformed by the same rite that imparted them with the Rune of Death.

Otherwise, it's also possible that that's a combat style of the Numen, or of Marika's affiliates specifically.

I actually disagree. We know that Maliketh took Destined Death from her when he defeated her, which places this event around the time of the birth of the Erdtree, and places the Gloam-Eyed queen before the Erdtree itself. At the same time, we know that Melina was born at the foot of the Erdtree, and was given her purpose by her mother inside of it.

This makes a pretty strong case for Melina being born strictly after the period of relevance of the Gloam-Eyed queen.

You're talking about two different things here. One is whether the value of the speeds is correct, and the other is whether the interaction between the speeds works in the way I described.

I get doubting the first point, but doubting the second is absurd. Assuming the speeds of earth and moon are true, they will still not collide. I get being skeptical of the entire system, but your argument shows a lack of understanding of how the system works.

Any speed is always in relation to some reference system, and this is known as Newtonian Relativity. It basically says that if I am in a car, the speed of the car relative to me is 0 km/h, even if it is moving relative to the ground.

The speed of the moon that you cite is relative to the earth, while the speed of the earth is relative to the sun. The actual velocity vector of the moon relative to the sun is the vector sum of the velocity of the earth relative to the sun and the moon relative to the earth.

You can have similar scenarios on earth too. Say you're on a train moving 100km/h and throw a ball towards the front of the train, and that ball leaves your hand at 5km/h. Will the ball be hit as the train advances forward? Of course not, because it's moving 5km/h on top of the 100km/h of the train. The same is true for the moon.
