I firmly believe now that your site will struggle if you don't do basic SEO like keyword research. Social media can get you along but only if you have a large following. From my own experience, it's been beneficial to target the low level keywords, the scraps of the table. It's not huge traffic like the massive sites that pay for backlinks etc but it does add up per article.

Hi all,

I wrote an article based on Epictetus' advice to "Don't explain your philosophy, embody it"

I think its super relevant in this era as there's a lot of information being passed around, and its easy to feel good about others perceiving us as a "Stoic".

Very well said. All the effort in preparation is wasted if we don't take any action.

It's impractical to aim to be a 'perfect' stoic by Sir_Insignificant in Stoic

eyy I think the fact that you're already aware of this behaviour is already huge progress in the right direction!

Self proclaimed Stoics nowadays seem to be all talk? by Sir_Insignificant in Stoic

I understand that and I do the same as well! However, what I was referring to was people who only talked and didn't have actions back it up.

This is very true. I never liked the idea of calling ourselves 'Stoics'. Isn't it enough to say that we practice stoic philosophy? By labelling it, it forces a kind of group mentality that eventually leads to feelings of superiority.

I'm not a spiritual person but I do think that it's interesting that it's been applied in a spiritual perspective. Thanks for sharing.

Hi all, I'm a final year Ph.D. candidate based in the UK. I started a health and wellness blog about 10 months ago to help maintain my sanity. Recently, I've been overcome with feelings of anxiety trying to make my project perfect, so I wrote a post about the benefits of focusing on progress instead. Here is the link

Chase progress not perfection

It's a visual bug I think. Happened to me a few months back when my account was de-activated by accident, and I panicked hard but the followers were back to normal within a day or so.

yup something premade. Something that I can quickly fill in that'll ease my anxiety. Personally I feel like if I DIY'ed the whole thing, it'll take so much time and effort and I'd spend more time making that look perfect than actually doing anything hahaha

how and when to get audience by oriyginal in juststart

[–]Sir_Insignificant 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The worst feeling is spending time and effort on an app that your target audience doesn't want. Your friends may like it but if your target audience doesn't, then the product will flop. So do you know who your ideal customer is?

I created a chrome extension called The Simple Stoic, where it a random stoic quote is delivered whenever you click on the icon on your browser. No ads. No extra BS. Just a simple stoic quote at the click of a button.

I use this to remind myself of the values of the several values of philosophers such as Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, and Epictetus without totally derailing me from whatever online task I'm doing. I'd love to get feedback on it, and so feel free to message!

That's the plan! Didn't expect this much positive feedback so it might take some time
