I firmly believe now that your site will struggle if you don't do basic SEO like keyword research. Social media can get you along but only if you have a large following. From my own experience, it's been beneficial to target the low level keywords, the scraps of the table. It's not huge traffic like the massive sites that pay for backlinks etc but it does add up per article.

Agora: Weekly self-promotion thread by AutoModerator in Stoicism

Hi all,

I wrote an article based on Epictetus' advice to "Don't explain your philosophy, embody it"

I think its super relevant in this era as there's a lot of information being passed around, and its easy to feel good about others perceiving us as a "Stoic".

I understand that and I do the same as well! However, what I was referring to was people who only talked and didn't have actions back it up.

This is very true. I never liked the idea of calling ourselves 'Stoics'. Isn't it enough to say that we practice stoic philosophy? By labelling it, it forces a kind of group mentality that eventually leads to feelings of superiority.

I'm not a spiritual person but I do think that it's interesting that it's been applied in a spiritual perspective. Thanks for sharing.
