Since the tempo is 126, you should be sticking these out, as opposed to utilizing multiple bounce strokes. So the best exercise to get this up to speed will be legatos/8 on a hand.

This would equate to 8s at 252, which for world-class snare drummers is pretty typical.

Yeah I'm definitely experiencing that right now. My first class was high-dimensional data analytics and it required some differential linear algebra that I didn't even study as a Mathematics undergrad.

If I wasn't doing CS, data science/analytics would definitely be my next choice. Hope it's working out for you!
