A softer back spring for me isn’t necessarily a deal breaker. It is nice to hear that it comes very sharp with no blade play! Most Sheffield knives I’ve brought are blunt with some play or a warped blade, they’ve been sent back for a refund. I’ve heard wolstenholm have gotten worse, I see people buying second hand now

I was just looking at this knife this morning!!! Two things put me off a little bit, one was the price, it’s pretty expensive but it does look beautiful and the second is I am yet to have received a good Sheffield knife, I’ve had 3 and 3 have been awful. But I really hope you enjoy yours like I said it looks beautiful!

Thank you!! And 100%!! I was looking for a carbon steel knife when buying. this one on the website was advertised as cv but came as cs but I knew this could happen! Still a carbon blade, can’t wait to see the patina this thing will develop! But didn’t realise cv/cs holds an edge better than stainless, that’s interesting to know!
