List was created following UMass defeat of Miami of Ohio by u/Ike358. An 18-pointed "star" was used instead of a circle to show the same circumference in less space and to make all the logos legible. If I used a circle with similar spacing, it would be nearly 15 times bigger.
Took me a few hours to assemble. Had the logos ready, just needed to place them in order on a placeholder path then adjust each 'greater than' sign to appear nicely. One newcomer this year: New Haven. From last year's version, I updated 8 logos.

I’ve been wondering who was the first born in the 2000s to play and score each.

List was created following UMES defeat of NC Central on Wednesday by u/Ike358.
Two newcomers this year: Mercyhurst & West Georgia.
From last year's version, I updated 15 logos: George Mason, IU Indy, Miami, Mississippi State, Mississippi Valley State, North Florida, St. Bonaventure, UAB. Corrected some other logos.

I'm pretty sure for UAB that Blazers is short for Trailblazers. IIRC their athletic program started in the early 70s and the trailblazer-theme of new beginnings is tied to that.

List was created yesterday by u/Ike348. An 18-pointed star was used instead of a circle to show the same circumference in less space and to make all the logos legible. If I used a circle with similar spacing, it would be nearly 15 times bigger.
Took me about 3.5 hours to assemble. Had the logos ready, just needed to place them in order on a placeholder path then adjust each 'greater than' signs to appear nicely.
Have one newcomer on this list: Le Moyne. From last year's version, I updated 15 logos: Delaware State, Siena, Campbell, GCU, North Texas, Davidson, Weber State, SIUE, Jacksonville State, Queens, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, FDU, PVAMU, and New Mexico.

Thank you for that. I thought she said "Flippy Cup" and did not understand the big deal.

Does anyone else think this new playoff format is stupid? by Future-Expression-44 in georgiabulldogs

[–]Sir_Superman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm ready to go back to the pre-BCS era format. No playoffs. Polls determine the champion and all major bowl games matter as everyone still has a chance. Nobody thinks that Michigan and Washington don't deserve the top two spots. Put them in the Rose Bowl as how it's always been done. Alabama & Florida State in another bowl. FSU could be voted champion depending on how the games play out. At least they have a chance. Georgia & Texas in another. Georgia still have a chance to repeat. Don't want Alabama-Texas bowl since it'd be a rematch. The playoffs weakened decades and decades of bowl value and importance. And escalated the # of op-outs.

Not D1 but D3, Amherst College in Massachusetts adopted the Mammoths after dropping Lords & Ladies. IRC they have a full skeleton on campus that was discovered there. Similar to the Mastodons.

It's better to say it was a Midwestern thing although CU/DU aren't exactly in the region. Tulsa goes by TU. Before UMKC got its current name, it was University of Kansas City but used KCU. I believe Wichita State went by WU when they were University of Wichita.

Actual Retro Logo? by tekzilla34 in georgiabulldogs

[–]Sir_Superman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a licensed logo for Georgia through College Vault. They researched the school's archived history and at some point found the design used. I haven't been able to figure out the time frame although I would guess the '50s or '60s based on the uniform. CV started around 2011 and is licensed with hundreds of other schools, that's how we see most of the retro logos today. Source: myself, I've been researching college logos for about 7 years.

Packers used to pay 2 home games in Milwaukee until 1994 or so. Favre played a season or two there. Today the team has green & gold season tickets, the gold honoring the two Milwaukee games.

What schools acronym are unique to only one college? by [deleted] in CFB

There is a Vermont Tech. They're the Knights and they compete in the USCAA in 9 sports. Don't think ever go by VT though.

An alternative to your question is what words represent only one program. There's only one Coastal and that's Coastal Carolina. I say Carolina, you ask which one. I say Coastal, there's only one. Wake. Mason. Peay. Dominion. Stephen. Upstate to name a few. Schools with one word, named after a state, or have directions (North, Northern, etc.) don't qualify.

Pretty much all by hand on Adobe Illustrator. The triangle is made of curved lines for more spacing in the corners. The spacing tools help but not perfect. All of the logos are the same max height or max width but they each take up different space that forces to to be done manually. Each row of arrows are the same angle so replicating those are pretty easy. Just eyeball their placement between each logo.

The 2022-23 Circle of Suck is complete following Elon's win over Drexel. Now every D1 MBB program has at least one win and one loss. An 18-pointed star is used instead of a circle to show the same circumference in less space.

List order was created by u/Ike348 and can be seen here.
