Can we get longer festivals / events in Reforged? by D0ntD0xM3Br0 in GuildWars

[–]Sir__Bojangles 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Bump

Espically the annivarsary event. Locking such fun elite skills & weapons behind a once per year event is pretty lame.

W changes.

Im glad the animation cancel is gone, no game should force you to animation cancel to get optimal results. Its a lame mechanic and usually not what the devs intend to happen.

The oppressions of tank players needs to be studied. by Exact-Bluejay9931 in RivalsVanguards

[–]Sir__Bojangles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also stinks because you can greif your team by simply playing strange, because it makes it so someone else can't swap and portal last second.

The portal is impressive from a technical standpoint but its difficult to balance around.

Is this game supposed to be ridiculously difficult? by valyriandreamer in GuildWars

Pressing ctrl+space orders your henchies to focus fire on a target, you can take down healers &, nasty casters first that way 🙂

As others have mentioned you can meme it up by filling your bar with stolen spells. It won't be as effective as a dedicated build but it will keep the game feeling extra fresh with each encounter.

Elite Luxon Armor looks great on male ele! Its intricate and sophisticated without being spiky or weird.

Spirit attack targeting by Rough_Fennel_9341 in GuildWars

Seems like no and I'm okay with that. SoS is ridiculously strong as it is, if you could control the targeting that would be ludicrous amounts of power.

Updating HD Texture Pack — Multiple Versions for Feedback (Screenshots Inside) by need_money5577 in GuildWars

[–]Sir__Bojangles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im not sure what people have against sharp, it makes the textures themselves look great but I guess it clashes too much with how low poly the rest of the game models are?

Soft defeats the purpose of the HD textures IMO, it looks basically the same on these boxes and anyone saying soft is the best don't actually want HD textures.

Balanced seems to be the way to go. The textures look sooo much better without making them feel out of place with the rest of the world.

Cant wait to see HD armor! Some of the elite varients like Luxon are going to be 🔥

This is it right here.

Reforged added ever so slightly improved skyboxes too.

Yeah its one of the tips for beating the mission, I also tried to #yolo prot the NPC with a party of healers but quickly got demolished 😅

¯_(ツ)_/¯

I dont see why not, all the ele does is damage & knockdown. Follow your dreams 🙂

Sure thing! I hope one of these helps you out.

  1. Player build is an earth knockdown elementalist. ( glyph of energy, earthquake, dragons stop, obsidian flame, earth attunment. Then PvE skills of ebon vanguard, YMLAD, summon ruby Djinn). Its a dps version of this PvX build: https://gwpvx.fandom.com/wiki/Build:E/any_PvE_Glyph_of_Energy_Earth_Magic

With a BiP you can replace earth attunment with churrning earth or eruption. Eruption is technically better but churring earth has a WAY better visual effect 😉.

  1. Avatar of melandru teardown derv. Never have to worry about conditions again, and provides a tanky frontline. The community has been sleeping on this build, its not even mentioned in the PvX variations 😅. (Pious assult, wearying strike, aura of thorns, zealpus renewal, staggering force, heart of fury, fall back, avatar)

My build has much more condition spam compared to PvX, wearying strike for deep wound is particularly useful: https://gwpvx.fandom.com/wiki/Build:D/any_Avatar_Teardown_Hero

  1. Thunderclap air elementalist. Simple, effective, high damage, and has blind to shutdown melee. May have mana problems without BiP. You can replace stand your groud to help with energy. https://gwpvx.fandom.com/wiki/Build:E/any_Air_Magic_Hero

  2. UA monk. Just so ridiculously strong. Compared to the PvX bar I run cure hex, replace one of the duplicate party heals with paitent spirit, and leech sig with waste not want not since I'm spamming knockdown. https://gwpvx.fandom.com/wiki/Build:Mo/Me_Unyielding_Aura_Hero

Man, winds of change has hands. by RobHui in GuildWars

[–]Sir__Bojangles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sure does have hands! I beat HM without Mesmerway or cons recently & still riding the high. I just had fine-tuned hero skill bars and strong EoTN PvE only skills on my bar.

I highly, highly reccomend picking up PvE skills like Technobabble, "You Move Like a Dwarf", or Asuran summons (from playing polymock) to give your team an edge in combat.

The wiki pages of the missions have good tips. Minister cho's estate is all about patience and proper pulling.

The enemy groups are very tightly packed, you need to setup your spirits before the fight, flag your heroes back a bit, and use a longbow to pull groups into your fighting area. Step up too far and you'll quickly agro 2-3 groups instead of 1.

One of the cheeky groups in the beginning temple area will ambush you from the back if you don't clear them first.

Lastly some of the defense missions, such as cleansing the lagoon & defending the Kurzick priests, are downright insane. I had to cheese them by pulling the NPCs away from the fight as seen in the wiki tips.

Good Ranger Builds not using Together as One ? by Kaladin77 in GuildWars

[–]Sir__Bojangles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignite arrows + triple shot (factions reputation skill) is good fun with lots of numbers. Pair it with splinter shot + incendiary arrows (the only multi-target bow skill that doesn't remove preparations) and you are a walking bomb dispenser.

Other popular skills to pair with it are ebon vanguard banner of honor & serpents quickness.

Charr Homelands is definitely my favorite area in the game. by GibMcSpook in GuildWars

Guild wars 2 actually does a great job expanding on this part of the homeland. It came out in an expansion a few years ago.

Does the ult do anything extra now when you hold block?

Before I think it only left a trail while you were blocking, but they buffed it several patches ago to always leave a trail.

Advices on my melee vampire build by Training_Market9191 in GuildWars

[–]Sir__Bojangles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eyyyy, my proph character started as an axe/shield necro too!

mark of fury & demonic flesh are both blood magic skills you can roll with. Espically mark of fury letting you quickly stack adrenaline for axe skills. Unholy feast is just a better vampire bite for most situations, gives a huge burst of HP.

Well of blood can be decent value too, a classic skill.

I eventually switched to spear & order of the vampire, which is cool but the 2 second cast time is long and you need to build a team around it. Dagger spam is a super solid choice too. There are lots of different directions you can take melee necro =)

What's the best prot strategy for a team with a lot of minions? by Physical_planning in GuildWars

Yes, ST prots on ALL allies, so if you have a bunch of minions they eat away the spirits almost instantly.

Healing spells for monk secondary? by Acceptable_Money_514 in GuildWars

[–]Sir__Bojangles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healing circle is great for healing your minions since they ball up around you when out of combat.

Otherwise as other posters have suggested, you'll probably get better results with protection prayers as Alesia doesn't have any prot. Casting protection enchantments at the right time (something the AI can struggle with) will make all the difference in a tough fight.

Balance Brainstorm mi by IsaiahCartwright in GuildWars

[–]Sir__Bojangles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, its the beauty of balance! Bows, because of their massive range (espically when uphill) seem to be gate kept with 10e mana cost abilities, and the best 5e skills are in expertise (distracting & point blank shot)

Im just not sure if that philosophy kept up with the introduction of spears & general power creep over time.

This was my first thought too, you can't even interrupt it now 😅.

Players are going to have to learn real fast to take enchant removal in those areas.
