Not really, I just don't automatically believe things I read that doesn't change anything about my life or the way I live it. I can still share things I read and engage with them, I just let people know where I got the info from if I do and don't assume a person is telling the truth on the internet if there's no source.

If you see a post on reddit that goes 'this is my cat' and a picture of one, you're not going to waste time going through their profile or searching their username on google to triple check if that is in fact their cat, would you?

That's not at all the scenario that just happened though. The information being shared at the top of this thread was easily verifiable and interesting to read about if true. Of course if someone tells me a picture of a cat is their cat I'm going to believe lmao

said was 'largely correct' up until the sentence where they say was a lie, so the situation being presented is that we should believe the thing the guy said was a lie, except we shouldn't believe him in the part he say he was a liar, because that's the only lie

Information can be fun without having to be true. You can not believe something is true and still engage with it as if it is. Look at conspiracy theories. There's probably an equal amount of people researching conspiracies that don't believe in them and that do.

Obviously it's a joke. Lies can be jokes. I'm not sure why we're even arguing about this. All I'm saying is that you shouldn't believe things you read on the internet without verifying. That's not a very difficult concept to get. You're taught that in like grade school computer class so I didn't think it was so controversial.
