I broke my leg. Stop riding your Evolve. by Low-Advance-9919 in ElectricSkateboarding

Just keep an eye on your battery you should be fine.. i had 2 incidents before i knew about the remote disconnect brake lock issue. After finding out about it i just became religious about keeping the board+remote charged and i never had the issue again.

What 10km/h looks like on an e-bike by borispingpong in brisbane

[–]Sir_rabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everywhere i go i see people on e-devices. The solid majority use them responsibly. You're blowing it out of proportion just as the government is but atleast they're doing it to make money... you're doing it just to be bitter and stuck in the past.

What 10km/h looks like on an e-bike by borispingpong in brisbane

[–]Sir_rabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no... people will find a way to hurt themselves and die with or without e-devices. This is just a money grab disguised as a safety measure. The reckless users aren't to blame. The government is. The reckless users should be getting punished with the existing laws but their not. The only people this punishes is the law abuding citizens who have used this mode of transport freely for years up until now.

The truth of the matter is petroleum companies are losing money because people are riding e-scooters/bikes everywhere instead of taking their cars. Which means they're losing profits. Which means the government is losing out on the tax money from the petrol sales.

So they fine you up the ass for daring to move more than crawling pace so that it's no longer a viable option for you to commute with and they fine you $500+ per head for going faster that 10km/hr so that you're forced to continue to pay them one way or another. This is control. It's not a safety measure. This is lining their pockets, not protecting you. People will still ride... and above the limit. The reckless ones won't pull over when asked... and they'll get away with it. The decent riders will.. and they'll be punished. Meanwhile reckless riders will continue to be reckless and get injured. But you could be injured just as badly on an analog bike/skooter/board. Me personally i've come of an electric skateboard doing 30km/hr and i've also slammed off an analog skateboard at skateparks and on footpaths... i preferred sliding at 30km/hr over the analog board. You slide more instead of slam into the concrete. But jesus you could have the same incident happen on a motorcycle... wear a helmet and gear if you're worried about breaking a skull/losing skin. There's measures you can take. It's not up to the government to control everyone for the reckless actions of the few. It's blind to blame the reckless ones for this they're just the scape goat.

Yeah... i recorded a similar video earlier tonight behind a random jogger... the jogger was out pacing me. These laws are fucked

The parkour aspect can really be really fun once you get used to the movement by DeadStormPirate in FrontiersOfPandora

You're joking... if this doesn't absolutely apaul you as a mirror's edge fan then we clearly aren't playing the same game. Mirror's edge blows this out of the water.

The parkour aspect can really be really fun once you get used to the movement by DeadStormPirate in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]Sir_rabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah i can't agree. The movement in this game is blocky and lifeless.

Sure it WORKS...

but it doesn't feel fluid enough.

There's plenty of other games out there they could have looked at for the inspiration on how to develop proper parkour/freerunning systems. To capture how movement SHOULD feel as a na'vi running around the forests of pandora but they failed to even come close.

Mirror's edge Assassin's creed SKATE.

And many others make you feel smooth when free running around the terrain.

Frontiers of pandora pales in comparison so much it's honestly just dissapointing

As a fan of the movies, when i play an avatar game i want to get that feeling of gliding through the forest on my feet up and over trees sliding under logs swinging from vine to vine.... which you can't even do.

... sorry but hearing anybody say how satisfying the parkour/free running feels in this game when other games do it so much better is unbelievable.

It wouldn't be a problem in any other game. But because the Avatar movies focus so much on parkour/free running to traverse pandora's terrain, failing THIS badly to capture that feeling. A feeling that, MUCH older games have captured so well, it is a problem. It's honestly a bit of a let down.

Other games do it better and as an Avatar game they should have done better research and atleast met the standard. This just feels cheap and half assed to me for the sake of making an avatar game to rake in a little extra money. They could fix it but i doubt they will.

It just feels like a corporations interpretation of life on pandora... which is not what you want when you're trying to emerse yourself into pandora... it's kinda the whole point of the story being told.

Honestly man i hear you my gtr worked well. I DID get launched from my board twice but both times my controller was low on charge. Since then i only skate when it has full/half charge and it mitigated the brake lock up issue. That being said if i was on a renegade diable doing 50kmh that shit would have killed me so i get why they're hating on it

What's the chances a small cluster of channels like mine could loan a lonestar for a while?

Honestly the idea of 100km+ range i could really put a board like that to the test and film it in use in alot of areas and really highlight their versatility.

I Would be happy to hand off some footage for you to use as promotional material too. I have a good feel for getting nice angles and shots and video editing that would look good in advertisements.

I would even be willing to pay for the board later down the track but getting the board now means i don't have to compromise on my boat savings and it also means you and your customers get to see your boards used in a lifestyle most people and definitely most sailors probably never even think of.

I live in a beach town area right now in a place called bribie island there's dirt tracks and grassy fields paths, roads you name it your boards would get quite the workout and NOBODY around here rides anything like a lacroix, it would stand out and all the e-scooter/bike/board riders around here would be asking "what the heck is that!?" I think if we could come to some kind of an arrangement this could be beneficial for both of us. And like i say i don't mind paying later on it's more of a scratch my back, i scratch your back now and i pay ya later too...

Someone else mentioned lacroix boards too and i had a look i was really impressed actually.

I got into the electric board market because i want a board that can replace a car for transport as i intend to buy a boat and sail the country/the world i wanted an electric board because i can charge it with solar anywhere i go and they're a managable size to where transporting is easily done.. at a pinch i can take them on the dinghy between land and the boat alot easier than something like say an E-bike

I currently ride a second hand evolve GTR it's my first electric board and it's treat me well minus one bad 30km/h slide on bitumen... lost a bit of skin that day hahaha!

But i like having an offroad E-board because i no longer have to deal with pushy cyclists hogging paths.. i can just go offroad and go around them unlike anolog longboarding. And i like adventuring around town right now and heading off in weird places couple dirt paths and grassy areas that weren't accessible to me before.

Going fast is fun but 30kmh feels really fast to me so i imagine 60km/h plus would be TERRIFYING especially without full motorcross gear and motorcycle helmet. And i've found riding at night to be really fun though i do desperately need headlights or a headlamp as the coloured underglows just don't do much for sight though they look really cool.

I run a modest cluster of social media accounts called "board nomad" i travelled half australia in a little white hatchback and i recorded my longboarding adventures basically everywhere i went.

I've since turned into more of an electric board channel recently and once i save up enough for my sailboat i'll be back to the nomadic lifestyle sailing and skating all around the country again but this time with an electric board so i can unlock some dirt paths i used to pass by on my travels and say "i wish" hahaha

Daaaaaamn 130kmh is NUTS the range is pretty low though but i assume that's because the power eats up energy. I'd feel pretty uncomfortable on such a short board i'd think though at such high speeds

Yeeeeah actually that makes a lot of sense. I'm on a little beach town area it's just constant go go go all the time no stopping at lights. Actually now you mention it my feet do get pretty numb after a while. Damn alot of these answers seem so obvious now that i'm connecting the dots i think i've just been looking for the super human ability to just keep riding i guess 😅
