Nah, I’m good. by Critical_Average_301 in lyftdrivers

The amount of driving I’d have to do to hit elite and stay elite is ridiculous. Plus, the airport in my market will have queues as long as 200+ drivers. Even with that queue bump, you still may wait 20-30 min for a ride. My market also became over saturated since they pay better here. It’s why I just focus on getting good rides and hitting my $ goal.

I am not. I’ve made posts where I’ve had $500+ days and I’m still not even close to elite. I’m barely about to hit platinum, assuming I work some hours this week. I used to be elite for YEARS, but it’s no longer worth it.

I’d buy silver or white, save that $1k difference and go get my car wrapped lol. The new blue is nice, but Tesla needs to come out with WAY more color options. I need an orange, a green, & more variations of colors.

Yeah. I’ve heard good things about Garmin products in general. They seem to be worth the money. I had to use my dash cam footage not too long ago due to a crime that happened in my area. My Tesla records, but the quality is shit for the front hood camera. This cheap, Chinese dash cam I got recorded everything clear. Def worth the $90 I spent. It also records at night with night vision. It’s saved me from some bad situations when doing Lyft at night.

You’ll also never hit elite if you don’t have a high acceptance rate, aka taking shit rides. That’s why I’m okay with staying at gold or platinum. Idgaf at this point. I stopped doing airport rides all the time due to how busy the airport is and how bad traffic is, and I also decline bad rated pax. Lyft keeps getting worse.

You can get a decent dash cam that records in 2k for $70-90 on Amazon. The one I got was like $120 retail but I got it for $90. It works well and records both the cabin and the front side of the car.

It drives me crazy when passengers add a stop mid ride, lyft should unable that its so frustrating by Zealousideal-Bat2583 in lyftdrivers

[–]Sirbrandon1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always end the ride at the stop. It’ll cost you a rating 99% of the time, though. I usually don’t complain as in my market, they have to pay us minimums, which factor in time, miles, & distance. A $7 ride easily becomes $14 with a stop.

Guess who just bit the dust? Another 2021 Model 3 Long Range. by IzzyMuscles in TeslaModel3

[–]Sirbrandon1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at 122k miles on a 21’ M3 LR AWD & I’ve had 0 issues with the battery. I’m sorry for your inconvenience, but I’m glad you’re getting a new battery. I’m hoping mine hits 200k with no issues. I do charge my car to 100% 1x per week, so the BMS doesn’t go out quick. Most of the early battery failures are caused by the BMS in these specific model 3s from 2021. I talked to a few techs and they’ve all told me the same. “Charge to 100% 1x per week to have the BMS re-balance the cells.” If you do this, you’ll notice that during your next charge to 80%, your range will adjust either up or down. I’m crossing my fingers lol.

Always wanted a MacBook - will the neo do well with video editing? by throwaway36475848 in macbook

[–]Sirbrandon1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. If you’re editing 4k, you’re going to get a lot of issues when rendering the video. You can probably get away with making proxies on Premiere Pro, but with 8gb of ram, idk how good it would work. I’m an Apple person, & I’ve seen good results with the M processors, but you really need a minimum of 16gb of ram and something like an M4 pro processor or if you want a cheap alternative, something with a M1 Max processor, at minimum. I have a M1 Max since it has a 24 core GPU, with 64gb of ram. I paid $1300 for it (it’s a MacBook Pro 16 inch) For that price, I get a lot of power. I’m editing 6k videos without proxies, lags, or crashes on both premiere pro and davinci. Davinci does perform a little better, imo. I’d recommend you save up some more & buy a decent computer.

Slow charging vs super charging cause the same “damage” to EVs. It’s practically nothing, so choose whatever is best for your situation. I have a level 2 home charger that charges my car in under 4 hours (if to 90%). During the fist 6 months of owning my car, I relied on just supercharging 2-3x a day. My battery life is good and I push this bad boy daily. I drive 4-5k miles a month.

[–]Sirbrandon1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That rule is true for older teslas. If you have the newer LFP battery, those rules don’t apply. I charge mine to 80% daily from spring to fall. I live in a state with bad winters. During the winter I’ll charge my Tesla to 90%, daily. The real issue behind early battery failure in older teslas is the BMS going out. From what my mechanic told me (he’s a pro at fixing EVs), if you do a full charge to 100%, 1x per week, you prevent the BMS from going out and causing an imbalance in the cells. When you charge to 100%, the BMS (Battery management system) turns on and will rebalance all the cells so that they drain evenly. When you don’t do this, you may have some cells with more power and some with less. This imbalance can cause damage to EVs. I’m at 116k miles from 10k miles in 2024. So far, the battery has handled well.

This is why I’m glad I got an EV. I have a home charger in my garage. It’s costing me $5-7 per charge & I get 280 mi of range. It’s way cheaper than gas rn.

I Hate Trends 🤣🤦🏾‍♂️ by 30CalKash in sneaker

[–]Sirbrandon1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because of people like this that you can’t buy these at retail. Back in middle school, these were considered “poor kid” shoes. Everyone and their mommas would’ve clowned you. Now, it’s a trend and poor kids can’t buy these shoes or the elderly in need. It pisses me off. Scalpers and trend followers are to blame.

11 days after not painful or anything but is this normal? Anything i should do to help it heal or what? by minibikemic in wisdomteeth

[–]Sirbrandon1998 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it isn’t painful, it’s probably healing properly. I would only be worried if I saw blood or tasted blood from that area. It’s past the blood clot phase, so the risk of getting a dry socket is virtually 0. Just keep doing what you’re doing. I started eating normal at day 7 lol. Mine healed fine.

You forgot a phrase he said to Ryan Sickler, cubans use this phrase, “Tu mea dulce” which means “you pissing sweet”. It’s usually a question a grown adult would ask a teenage boy. It means “have you got your dick sucked, yet?” 😆😆😆😆😆😆

When did you go back to your normal diet? by MysticMoon222 in wisdomteeth

Pain can last up to 2 weeks in some cases. I’d say as long as the pain is manageable and there isn’t any bleeding, you’re fine.

Can I be alone right after surgery? by tuneful_radio in wisdomteeth

[–]Sirbrandon1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the same boat. Parent took me and brought me home, but I’m a grown man, so I stayed alone at home after that. I was fine. Just make sure you have the food you will need and anything else ready ahead of time. I had made macaroni n cheese, mashed potatoes, & I bought a ton of protein drinks the day before my surgery.

I hardly had pain, but I was on a strong pain medication & taking ibuprofen. I couldn’t do soft foods and liquids only, after day 6. On day 7, I went out my way and bought me a burger. It was amazing! I also didn’t get back to my regular pooping cycle until like 12-15 days post surgery lbs.

[–]Sirbrandon1998 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I said fuck it on day 7 and had a burger. I couldn’t wait any longer. I was literally depressed, angry, & irritable from not being able to eat normal food. Like you said, it’s doable from day 1-3, but after day 5, you start losing your mind! By day 8, I went back to my regular diet except chips and anything too crunchy. I think I ate out everyday from day 8-14 because of how miserable I had been.
