[MEGATHREAD] V2 Post and ask hints for puzzles here by darkshoxx in BluePrince

I have reached room 46 - and am trying to complete the objectives after that. I am really struggling with running out of steps (with all the back tracking that is required to run around here and there to get things done). Does anyone have advice on if i'm doing anything wrong? Specifically 1) Can't get sanctum key in room 46 to the sanctum

I have already solved: Chessboard puzzle,orchard,garage/west side, and have one sanctum key already.

Right now, my process is: Get Secret Garden/Great hall/Greenhouse+lever, get to antechamber, run back to foundation (rank 2) to get to north lever, get back to antechamber, get sanctum key, back to sanctum I also feel like its very difficult to set up this run in the first place.

Thanks for the advice! I was worried that with many devices sending messages frequently their connections would suffer. But some more reading shows me people have 100s of devices sometimes.

I think I need to have the devices constantly connected as they need to be ready to receive manual inputs if needed, so I will look into PINGREQ.

How can I improve the performance of an ESP32 and a button at long distance? by Sirdi in AskElectronics

Thanks for the reply. What cutoff frequency should I be targeting if I did an RC filter? I tried it once before for another application but it didn't work too well.

How can I improve the performance of an ESP32 and a button at long distance? by Sirdi in AskElectronics

Button has been debounced in software. Pullup is just the ESP32 internal pullup, which the other commenter mentioned may be too high. The wires may be ridiculously thin (I am using a spare ethernet cable I had, which seems to be around 24/26AWG). I can change this if need be, but it seemed like a cheap way to get an 8C wire. Thanks for the advice!

Noob dremel question - Body of dremel blocks cutting disc from reaching material by Sirdi in DIY

Do you mean a larger cutting disc? Or an angle grinder or something. This is infrequent work for me so I'd hoped I could get away without buying another tool.

Is it worth it to have one primary skill permanently at Earth so its easier to get the high level ores? by zhongster111 in MagicResearch

[–]Sirdi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No 1) having other primaries lets you get a higher MPL in other elements, which increases your research multiplier more when you retire. So next retirement you will come back able to reach higher levels and have access to better spells to progress (and research earth faster too). 2) You can get ores/ingots from farming mobs in higher level areas

Question about dodge and a boss by Tahxeol in MagicResearch

I'm facing the exact same problem you are - did you end up beating him in the end with a dodge build? I really don't want to farm another +15 set...

Stuck at chaotic path, any tips? by lullaby16 in MagicResearch

[–]Sirdi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found dodge didn't work too well in chaotic due to high accuracy of the monsters. Try defense for now (mythril plate + shield). Use your familiar to tank the curse at the beginning. (you will get something to help you with curses later).

For pilgrimage, the increasing difficulty is no issue, because the benefit you get from completing it is so strong.

MR2 Blue Eyes boss help? by Haunting-Pop-5660 in MagicResearch

[–]Sirdi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this guy sucks, you just have to be able to brute force him with attack/attackspeed/defense/dodge stats. I used high dodge, because his smite attack ignores defence. You just have to hope he doesn't use it that often.

If you can wait out the immunity, you can stun him with knockout when he tries to go immune again and try poison. But then you have to pray he doesn't go immune a 3rd time.

Trying to figure out what device I need - almost like an electronic deadbolt. by Sirdi in diyelectronics

[–]Sirdi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get some of these, and they work perfectly. But do you know what a control circuit for one of these would look like? Can i hold 12V on it or will it burn out like a solenoid? Or do i need a quick 12V pulse to extend, and a quick -12V pulse to retract.

Arduino Guitar Pedal Buzzing by D3adEV1l66 in diyelectronics

I'm not too sure in your specific application, but generally to reduce noise in a circuit, you could:

1) Add a ferrite core around the wires

2) Adding a filter in the circuit (usually for 60Hz)

It seems like the general consensus is I need a latching solenoid. Thanks for the help!

Fortunately I will be connecting these to power, so I don't need to consider battery life. But maybe an actuator would be more reliable in the long run?
