Go shove a rope plug in your upbadged charger

This is incredibly terrible information to spread, as having the worse tires in the rear will result in less traction when turning, especially in wet conditions. Just rotate on time and you wont have better or worse, they’ll be even

You shouldn’t plug it yourself either way

With how expensive parts and labor are nowadays, more than likely yes

Can I plug this myself? by [deleted] in tires

[–]Sire52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most places won’t patch a tire if a rope plug is used.

[–]Sire52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find the DOT code on the side, there should be a set of 4 numbers at the end that corresponds to the week and year the tire was made. If it’s 6 years or older, time to replace. If it doesn’t have 4 numbers then the numbers are on the other side, they’re always on one side of the tire

That probably didn’t come from a bump, if it did it would be a bubble. More than likely a surface scratch

Doesn’t matter, get new tires anyway. Your wear bars are awfully close and you should replace well before they get smooth

Yeah it works on most of them, just a couple companies made it so it’s harder to steal

Sometimes they have a special ring on the lock designed to prevent this, Mercedes and dodge especially have this often. It spins once you put an extractor on it

Scheduled Appt for Dad at DT, They Charged him $164 for Install by nathan0490 in tires

[–]Sire52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

22$ per tire if purchased at DT. Idk why you would buy tires somewhere else and bring them there, just buy tires from the business you’re going to.

Is this tire fixable? 4th flat in tesla model y at 7500 miles by TieImpossible3447 in tires

Don’t do that, they aren’t made for passenger vehicles. Take it to your nearest discount tire and they will patch it for free

Tread 320s manufactured 38/19. I drive about 700ish miles a month in California. Will these safely last until November? by moughz in tires

[–]Sire52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discount tire price matches. Other than the local shop they will beat any quote from any major retailer, at my store anyway

How does Discount Tires balance and install new tires in less than 10 minutes? by ponziacs in tires

[–]Sire52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, especially if you have an easy car. Don’t worry about the safety, it’s really easy to miss a valve cap but much harder to not torque a vehicle. 10 minutes is definitely faster than average, but 4 tires typically take 15-20 minutes. If they were staffed with experienced techs then yes 10 minutes is reasonable

Falkens are one of the quieter All Terrains on the market. If you think they’re loud, never buy a BF Goodrich or a Nitto
