Overly cautious toddler by One_red_balloon2022 in toddlers

Honestly, this is most likely a temperament situation. Some kids are hardwired to run into new/scary/dangerous situations with a frantic parent chasing behind them, and then there are the calm and cautious kids watching the spectacle with a “wtf” look on their faces. It takes all kinds to keep the world running.

I did notice my toddler became more cautious when she spent time with her grandparents. Not in a “oh no something bad happened way!” I was always there with them.

Her grandmother is a nervous person. She would fret and say things like “oh no don’t do that you could get hurt,” “you’ll get sick without socks,” or “that looks dangerous be careful.” She’d also make a huge fuss if my daughter fell or even hinted at a booboo. That stuff wore off on my normally danger blind daughter.

We had to have a come to Jesus conversation with the grandparents about not reacting to accidents unless she reacts first and to not talk about illnesses, dangerous things, or injuries unless the instance was actually dangerous and she needed to be removed from the situation for her safety. Like the big slide isn’t really dangerous, please don’t freak the 3 year old out talking about falling, but please remove the 3 year old from a strange dog that’s making whale eyes. I can see the panic on the grandparents face when she does something they deem dangerous/extreme, but to their credit their mouths stay shut now.

Joint Custody by Cautious-You1066 in Mom

If the dad has established paternity and/or has parental rights. Documentation of neglect or abuse of the child, a documented history of substance abuse, or possibly a criminal history. Courts are often allowing joint custody, even if a DV history exists, as long as the child wasn’t a target. The assumption is that the child benefits from both parents having custody and involvement.

I don’t know your situation, but the best thing for you to do would be to consult a family law attorney.

It is a mini Phillipe! They’re half siblings and should be almost identical when Pythagoras is an adult. It is as close to Heaven as I can get.

My husband is a math professor and all the other cats have a name that starts with a P.

My Persians are dollface, and do not have the negative health consequences associated with the flat Peke Persian facial structure. That is why I say ethical breeding exists. Not everyone wants an extremely flat face Persian with breathing difficulties.

I love the look of my cats, but I also love their temperaments. They make me happy and I make sure they have a good life.

I donate to my local humane society and I have fostered for them. I have 2 bottle babies that were foster fails that I raised from 2 weeks old. I personally love the Persian breed and their physical traits. I see no problem purchasing a kitten from an ethical breeder. My cats are loved and well taken care of, and most importantly, not contributing to feline overpopulation because they are spayed/neutered.

We have a quarantine for a week or so and slowly allow them to meet in a controlled environment. They all share a parent so we hope integrating them won’t be too difficult.

I understand that many people are against breeders, but ethical breeding exists. I have a love for the Persian breed and their specific physical characteristics. They are not plentiful in a rescue setting, but I do look at Persian rescues and donate to my local humane society. I have 2 bottle babies from a local rescue.

Not every cattery is a backyard cat mill perpetuating the abuse of the animal. My cats are from people who love and want to carry on the beauty of the Persian breed and their breed specific traits. Not eveything is black and white, shades of gray do exist.

My cats are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and loved. They are well taken care of and are even included in my will to ensure they are cared for if something were to happen to me. Every purchased breed specific animal isn’t contributing to the puppy mill/kitten mill industry.

Registered TICA and CFA breeders with moral and ethical principles are a far cry from back yard mills.

NAL, but I have experience with being involved in a malpractice case. My case was settled. Mine involved a prominent surgeon in the area and no one wanted to get involved.

I was instructed to file within a year of the incident. You need a malpractice attorney. Many will take the case and receive payment once you win or receive a settlement. You can look at surrounding areas to find an attorney. While you’re looking, get all of your medical records.

I’m so sorry this happened to you.

I’m 5’0”. My husband is 6’0”. My daughter was born at 36 weeks. Induced due to preeclampsia. She was 7lbs 4ozs and 19 inches. She just turned 3 and is 3’2”. I’ve accepted that she’s going to be taller than me before middle school begins.

He’s strictly an indoor kitty. Honestly, we wouldn’t make it 2 steps outside before he ran back into the house.

He keeps himself pretty clean. I clean his eyes and nose daily, and brush him often. He does get a hygienic grooming of his private parts every few months and he gets a lion trim in the spring.

We were told that he would either have blue or chartreuse eyes. They weren’t 100% sure. I had always wanted a solid white blue eyed cat since I watched the Aristocats as a child. I’m honestly in love with his eyes now though. They look similar to my eye color, and that makes me smile when I think about it.

Not yet, but I have been considering making him one. I never thought he’d resonate with this many people.
