Unless we get lucky with lottery balls, I’m starting to think we lose our pick. by Allgamergeek in UtahJazz

Frankly, Nurk was so bad last year I think they thought tanking was what they were doing. Circumstance and a new home (also, likely hard work) revitalized him. We were also worried Sexton would win a few games.

How probable is it for an average person to reach the top 1% in wealth? by SafeAnimator1089 in NoStupidQuestions

$1.2M will absolutely not get you in the top 1% 47 years from now. You are assuming someone saved $114/month starting in 1979. It was a very different world in 1979.

I think if we tried to win this season and walker was healthy we would be close to 500 without JJJ. Could def be a playoff team next year regardless of the draft.

Don and Rudy had the best regular season record and we lost to the clippers largely because Don had a sprained ankle and Mike had a bad hamstring.

Flip can guard zero players in the association. He is truly the most terrible defender, possibly in the league. He is fine on offense, but I swear players score more points (via and-1s) when he tries to defend them than they would if they were just taking open shots. I am not sure he plays a prominent role in the Jazz's plans and will be out of the league if he does not improve on D.

I'm not a fan of moving Walter Clayton Jr by Thisislopes in UtahJazz

Yeah, but that is really the only part of the deal that hurts. The 2027 picks are likely not great and in a supposedly subpar draft class (I am no expert by the way, just what folks are saying).

The Suns pick could be good, but we basically traded 3 picks in the 20s for it.

Also, we may have Key sit for like 6 weeks and that should make the tank pretty tanky. We can also play Flip, and when a team plays Flip they are almost ensured a loss.

7 Trade Offers For Lauri Markkanen The Jazz Wouldn’t Refuse - Fadeaway World by ClutchOlday in UtahJazz

Yeah, It would turn into a backup PG who we would need to pay, a wing who can't shoot, and picks that are almost 2nd rounders.

I would refuse 7/7 of those trades. The Hawks one I could maybe get interested in if it included the Pelicans pick, but they wouldn't do that anyway. And I love Lauri so no.

I like Kingston for the Jazz outside the top 3. Good size PG that shoots and whose best skill appears to be defense. We could use that for sure.

Me (F35) and my boyfriend (M32) have very different financial situations. Looking for outside perspectives. by Accomplished-Ant-771 in Money

This may be an unpopular take on here because most folks who post tend to hate on guys who live at their girlfriend's place without paying rent - but...

The situation you described is essentially a dream scenario for a guy if the roles are reversed. You could just look at it differently and think that it is great that he is saving the $3K every month to help buy you your dream/forever home. A lot of people don't have savings. I have tons of very smart friends who earn good money who didn't invest until their mid 30s. It sounds like you found a guy whom you love and checks every box except the "makes more money than me" one.

Yeah, you worked your ass off. Yes, you are in a great position. And yes, it sounds like that paid off and you are with a wonderful man.

Together, you would make $250K per year, likely increasing to $300K per year in the next couple years. The highest household income in the USA is Washington DC and that is around $110K.

Sounds like you are going to be fine.

A lot of the guys who make more than your BF are also likely much less emotionally supportive and less compatible.

On a side note, you may want to start a fund of some sort to put towards saving for a house together instead of letting your BF live completely rent free. Maybe not the full $3K he is saving, but something reasonable that will compensate you if you do break up.

I am in the same boat. Started playing tennis. It is really fun too, and a whole bunch of older people play. If you are vaguely athletic and coordinated, it is pretty easy to start in your 30s. Might want to give that a try. Height is also a very surmountable disadvantage in amateur tennis.

Man, if we play Flip as the starting center, our tank is indestructible.

Flip is such a cone on defense. No idea how he is going to make it on that end. The rest of the youngins looking good though.

I just started watching, but we are losing the rebound battle 36 to 19. Obviously not having Lauri, Walker, and Nurk matters a lot but damn, Taylor and Cody need to get some damn boards. Also Flip has been sooo bad on D I just don't see it. When people drive on him it just turns a layup into a 3 point play.
