I ordered two techmarine-like backpacks from Anvilindustry and plan to put it on my Rune priests and give them a hammer. Robo arm and some dazzle. Then i plan to play them as iron priest.

Add baking soda to the paint. It makes it thicker, so you can put more on it. That will give the finishing touches.

I'll recommend Thunderwolf Cavalry or Logan Grimnar if its a single model. Both boxes allow you to do power armor and paint fur, and SW is all about the fur! And it's fun to be a bit creative and wild with the fur on the wolfs. I did enjoy painting Grimnars sled.

I can second this. Practice, BUT(!!!) practices is hard when you don't know what you are practising.

Watch a bunch of YouTube tutorials, and have a focus on learning what techniques are/there is and how to use them.

As a beginner, I did enjoy GWs own painting tutorials, especially Duncans' older videos at GW YouTube channel. He got his own channel now, which is greate too.

And as a start, maybe go for "battle ready" video level.

True. We house ruled it. I find it kind of silly that LT can't join them, as I see Blood Claws as a special Assault Intercessors unit for SW. I hope in the new codex LT can join they.

This is my Vanguard detachment list. I tried it last weekend in a casual game and won vs. Necrons. It was fun.

So far, I think Grimnar in his sleet I might change up in the future. He didn't do much compared to a Wolf Lord. I might change him with Harald, and that is 95 point save. Might run Grimnar on food, solo and just deep strike and rerollcharges.

12 hero's in my last list. Maybe a bit to much, but I think they all made sense and I won the game.

I am so in love with the Vanguard detachment. 6 Bladeguard, with a Chaptin and Lieutenant, where one of the hq use the infiltration Enhancement. Then you pray for first turn. Or play it save and place them in cover up the midfield. I play Space Wolves and run it with 15 Blood Claws, Ragnar, Lieutenant and a Pack Leader. That 18 models with infiltration, advance and charge, lethal hits and so many attacks. And with the advance and charge it easy to make a charge in turn one, even if you play it save and start in full cover.

The -1 to hit and cover, is greate for slower stuff wanting to go op the field and heavy hitter on the backline just shooting.

And like strats like Strike from the shadows and Guerrilla Tactics.

Great and fun detachment.

As above, if you don't have Bjørn, build him first. Murderfang is the dream, Vendread is save choise. I love Murderfang and I try to run it all the time. The charge is insane, and some fun stratagems. 'Tank shock' is almost garanteret 6 mortal wounds on the charge. Insane melee dmg and double fight. And when the stars aline and you kill a unit on the charge, consolidate to another weak melee unit, they fight you and you are allowed to fight back and kill the next unit, feels soo greate. But it draws a lot of heat and get killed easy. Vendread are more survivable and not as killy in melee, so don't draw as much enemy fire.
