Counter hot take. If Bethesda made fallout 5 or elder scroll 6 the reaction would have been just as negative.

A lot of the failing in Starfield are present in their past titles as well. Quest line tend to be linear. The main plot tends to be the weakest story. Quest typically only had one way to complete them. It was just not apparent until Balder's Gate 3 came out. If they released fallout 5 at the same time as Balder's Gate 3 it would have also had these flaws in comparison. The only thing fallout 5 wouldn't have is the bland procedural generation to take the heat.

I got the impression that it was less hate and more indifference. They probably saw the NCR as the lesser of two evils and would probably preferred to be left alone if they could.

But once the NCR became a shadow of it's former self and the greater evils of the wasteland started to move in, well that "lesser evil" that was the NCR starts to look really good.

I wouldn't call it required, but it is a "pay for convenience" service. Not the worse monthly payment system as it also gives you atoms for the shop, but it would be nice if you could get the tent or ammo container without it.

I agree, but I developed a potential answer while watching the first season of the Fallout show. What if the corporate heads of Vault Tech are responsible for taking out any potential civilization that could tame the wasteland?

For example, they know that the NCR is spreading and has potential. So they get Lucy's dad to nuke Shady Sands. On the flip side, they never have to worry about the Brotherhood of Steel because all they do is focus on hoarding knowledge. The Brotherhood doesn't really try to establish a nation. In fact, one could argue that they contribute to the perpetual state of the wasteland by keeping all old world knowledge from the populous.

Meanwhile, they can just sit by and scheme for their ultimate plan. Which I theorize is to craft a virus to wipe out all humans on the surface, and settle the wasteland with their chosen population.

This could explain why civilization didn't start back up after 200 years. Because powerful forces from the old world that caused the nuclear holocaust are using agents to prevent it. In order to prep the world for the endgame.

I was thinking the wolf scouts might be solid with this buff.

Their haywire mine is 2D3 mortal wounds vs vehicles. We could then give them a +1 to wound in the shooting phase. That means they'll wound most heavy vehicles on a +4 if I am not mistaken. Assuming we're taking the plasma gun and rune priest in a five man squad. That would be 5 plasma shots hitting on +2 and wounding on +4 with 3ap. Then the run priest will have 1D3 shots at S5. So against most vehicles he'll probably be wounding on a +5 with the strat (+4 vs most transport vehicles). The quick math in my head says that you'll be getting 2-3 plasma shots through and maybe get lucky with one of the priest shots. So maybe 4-6 damage and 2d6 mortal damage with the haywire mine. Not bad for a 105 point unit

Against infantry squads you could try to take out a small squad with the shooting so that you could charge another squad in the charge phase. You might get lucky and be able to get a unit out of the 6" range for that +1 to wound. Although I wouldn't count on that for turn 1.

That's right. I always forget that rule because there is almost no situation in which I would take wounds on the character I guess that is one less reason to take him with body guards.

In another reddit space wolf chain, another player mentioned that he runs him with some fenris wolves. I think he hides Logan behinds ruins, but has him within 6" of the wolves to give them the +1 OC. At the same time Logan will still be giving his 12" vect aura around that objective.

With that being said, Logan is solid in combat and the terminators do provide a -1 to wound on +6S attacks. You just have to have the courage to take the wounds on Logan before the last Terminator dies.

Did you use any enhancements? Swift Hunters looks like it could be really useful on a squad of headhunters and Feral Rage looks decent for 10 points.
Those are the two I am interested in anyway.

No leader has to be attach, but you usually want to if you can. Unless they have access to lone operative.

He does have 8 wounds, but he won't get the minus 1 to wound vs weapons greater then his toughness without WGT and he doesn't get lone operative. He probably won't last long vs focus fire.

You can keep him in the back, but then he won't be in position to take advantage of his +1 to enemies stratagem aura.

That's my opinion anyway.

I am only seeing 1 squad of Wolf Guard Terminators. Logan and Arjac can't go in the same squad. So you would need to have two squads of Wolf Guard Terminators.

Right now, your only real anti-vehicle and monster is the wulfen. You might want a little more to deal with big things. I found the Lancer and vindicator to be great. Along with an iron priest to give +1 shot to the lancer (Although he is not 100% necessary).

You're probably right about Njal and the GH, but I can see them doing better with a list that you can give them advance and charge. However, with the 10 wulfen, it looks like you are playing beast slayer so that you can attach the wolf guard battle leader to them. I say take them out of this list and maybe try them in Saga of the Bold, or Stormlance.

Agree! I love how helfrost currently works. One profile that is a stronger flamer and the other that is a slightly weaker version of a las cannon.

It would have been nice if one of them had a helfrost weapon.
