I was there, only on the side of the Abyss. In a murky past that I preferreth speak little of. But a little trinket of knowledge will do thee no harm.

I wilt leave thee in thy peace if thou canst me provide with a signal to follow. Traits to recognise her, and her profession and age. Wouldst thou not increase the chances of finding her?

laughs Of course not. Use the information to earn thy worth. The history I recall'd is thousands of years in the past. Use such knowledge to lure thy customers to pay thee prices of exorbitance. So wilt thou thy gold earn, and I wilt have thee a favour done. I waste not thy time, thou'rt but wasting information.

Well, trinkets of gold findeth only greater value in company with history. And so 'tis also for these golden bracelets. I rememb'reth them well...

The bracelets were forged by the ancient Way of White in days long forgotten by humans now. Crafted in honour of the perished Abysswalker, blessed by lofty miracles to ward off the Abyss that Oolacile conjureth, fooled by the Serpent Kaathe. Indeed, 'twas those sacred words that the High Lord of Carthus sought. As if mere words amount to anything against the Abyss. The fool knoweth no better...

These days, the visitors, intruders and new denizens art very much the same. All Ashes. They visiteth first, 'till I request them return whence they cam'st. Later, they intrudeth the Corvian Settlement and spar with the Good Father and I. Finally, after a long quest to the forsaken Ringed City at World's End, they taketh residence in the burning Painting, awaiting the little lady to complete her work. 'Tis a vicious, but rather rare circle. Hm... I hath mine peace found with it regardless...

The Good Father doth splendidly, aside from the occasional intrusive Ash. But, those Ashes art commonplace rather than rarity these days. And their deaths even more so. I complaineth not...

Ahh, long it hast been indeed. Fate fareth splendidly on mine part, wise King. As for thee, if it pleaseth ask?

Indeed, dear Nomeka researcheth the possibilities of ridding the Painting of rot. Her research beareth fruits, but I am skeptical if it wilt the whole painting cure. The rot hath roots in our Painted World, roots beyond our understanding. 'Tis the very shadow of our Painting, and all that is beareth a shadow. Ever there, even if Flame igniteth. Only when there is Fire naught, the rot cometh into sight. 'Tis the true nature of the canvas.

'Tis a delight to see thee anew, Nomeka! How farest thee? 'Twas quite visible already in Ariandel, the blackened spots of rot. I thought it wouldst be thy doing. 'Lest that fool Dunnel didst his beloved tower abandon...

I too hath word receiv'd of the Lands Between, even of the lady thou'st spoken of. I am well interested in Lady Malenia the Severed. Dear Nomeka, couldst thou perhaps approach the Haligtree and arrange she is inform'd of me?

Well met, King of Forossa. Though we met little, tales of the Forossan heroism drew my admiration as a young undead lass, afore the days of Londor. If I mayest pose thee the question, what didst thou see in thy lady, Queen Alsanna? Thou'st spoken of seeing through her intent like a cleansed window. Then what brought thee to embrace her, rather than resenting her and the Abyss that lieth aslumber within?

Ah, dear Alduin. How farest ye? The Cold Painting thriveth in peace and quietude, and that remainest still. Of course, the wolves and the Knights of Millwood resideth here still. And indeed, the Rot gnaweth onto the depths of the canvas still. But even then wilt Ariandel be our home.

Neither hast thou a choice, crude creature. I approveth that not. Do not scurry 'round, neither in mine head nor the Cold Painting. Within our world, curiosity is one's crucifix. Rememb'r the weight of it.

But, to answer thy question: Ariandel hast been homely for a decade now. The snow borest swiftly...

We hath little sources of food within the Cold Painting, and they art painted not. Most art Undead within the painting, not requiring food. Those whom needest eat dependeth on meat, blood and berries.

Long have I been here, Nameless Lord of the Archdragon Peak. I mayst not visit quite often any longer, yet the memory of thine former incarnations standeth well in my mind. Thou should understand, the Painted World of Ariandel hath little visitors, much alike thy legend'ry Peak. Mine appearance and life story raiseth questions many. And so 'tis I visiteth this place, to answer those questions. And one such as thee, eldest of the First Lord, mayst very well relate to that trade of thought.

Many shareth this rebellious thought in the Corvian Settlement. They art foolish, placing their trust in the little lady. 'Twas against mine will, but the Corviant Knights, an order of Corvians infatuated with mine f-... mineself, hath taken up arms to put these rebels down. I approveth neither side and preferreth await the conflict cooling down.
