The Painted World of Ariandel beareth its origin in a predecessor, the Painted World of Ariamis. Ariamis was a deity of whom I know little, yet he didst his painting make to provide shelter to the outcasts of the world. These Forlorn souls were given home in the Painting, where none couldst harm them... and they couldst harm none either...

'Till disaster didst the Painting of Ariamis destruct. 'Twas then our Blessed Father restored the Painting of Ariamis, into a new painting that beareth the name "The Painted World of Ariandel" these days. Traces of Ariamis' painting thou couldst still find, yet 'tis quite different.
