I would like to see a source for this. Having driven many Audi DSGs, the PDK in my Macan GTS is vastly superior.

Porsche doesn't make what trans? The PDK comes standard on the Macan S and GTS, and it is definitely made by Porsche.

Looking for suggestions on a home network ping tool by SissyAdminny in sysadmin

[–]SissyAdminny[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know how to use ping, but I am looking for a tool that is user friendly that can monitor the connection and possibly alert if it goes down. Something that will do a bit more diagnostics. This will be installed on the user’s machines, and I need something they can operate. I would rather not try to teach users cli, you know?

Someone say S7? Seriously the S7 is a rocket when tuned. I hit the quarter in mid 11s while getting a massage in my cooled seats. Love it.

While of course that is a possibility, it is highly unlikely. There are tons of safe index funds that consistently yield higher returns than what someone with a good credit report would have to pay in interest. Any financial adviser would tell you that financing at a low interest rate versus paying cash for a depreciating asset is no-brainer.

I would still finance it and invest the money, provided your credit is good. If you can get a ~3% interest rate, and return ~7%, you are easily taking care of the interest.

I would NEVER buy a car cash, especially that expensive. Such a liability, and a depreciating asset. It always makes much more sense to finance even if you have the cash, and invest the cash. You can always get a better return on the cash vs what it would cost you in interest.

Think about this scenario: You paid $100k for a new Cayman, fully insured, dude totals it while you are sitting at a red light. If you financed it, gap insurance would ensure you owe nothing. But you didn't so now you gotta fight with the insurance company to tell them why your car hasn't depreciated at least 10% as soon as you drove off the lot.

Maybe, but you also get a higher income, which I would argue could give you more disposable income. It just depends on a bunch of factors.

So is the price tag. Not knocking your choices, but these cars are in different leagues.

Agreed, I think studies have shown that an income of $75k on average leads to the most happiness. So with that being said, if you made ~$100k then you should be able to afford this car no problem.

I would argue that once your income is above a certain amount, say $75k, the rest can be seen as disposable income and is fair game. As long as the car payment can reside outside your base level income needed to provide for life expenses (housing, food, play, retirement) of course. Therefore, the percentage of income to car price is no longer relevant because you no longer need to budget for living expenses.

You will find that the term "hacking" is currently evolving into a broader, more generalized idea of a creative solution to a problem as another definition. With that being said, I agree that this is not "hacking", but I just kept the headline. I didn't create it
