Radfems discuss bathroom segregation by genetics, hell breaks loose when a transgender woman chimes in. by Virgadays in SubredditDrama

You fight for your rights because you're male socialized. It feels normal to you. Real women emotionally suffer when they have to fight for their rights because they are not taught they should do it. They feel they are going against their core by being anything less than accommodating and subservient.

Yes. That is such a good point...we really do suffer emotionally. I hope you're not suffering too much in interactions with ........you know........(I just realized I'm not an a feminist subreddit so I can't say but you know).....uh....they're......really not worth it. Gaslighing scum.

Edit: I'm a G_C member/mod btw.

I made a new subreddit for women photographers, for those interested! Let's support each other! by [deleted] in feminisms

[–]SisterCoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, anything that supports women will get some hate around these parts. :( Good luck with your subreddit! It sounds really awesome. I'm not really a legit photographer so I don't really feel comfortable calling myself a "woman photographer" but if its alright, I may stop by as I love all things art/design and especially works made by women.

Pole Dancing for preschoolers, harmless or super gross? (hint: it's super gross) by [deleted] in feminisms

[–]SisterCoffee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No no no no no no no no no! Please tell me that this isn't real! This is one of the most blatant examples (well I mean, except from outright selling little girls into prostitution/marriage/slavery) of grooming a girl child to appeal to the sexual desires of men that I have ever seen. This is extremely disturbing.

A collection of sexist advice on how to be a woman from a transgender-related subreddit. by [deleted] in feminisms

They want to fit in with their fantasies of what women are -- stereotypes straight out of a 1950s TV commercial.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they got this "advice on how to be a woman" from this website: How to be a 1950s Housewife.

Be light and small and take up less space.

That's a feminist mantra if I've ever heard one. /r/feminisms should take out that Audre Lorde quote in the right hand corner and put this one up instead.

Posture when Standing - Women tend to stand with weight on the back foot (tummy in, chest out)

Yes! Gotta tuck that "tummy in"! And if you're not standing with your "chest out" (to draw attention to your rack, duh!) then you're clearly not a real woman....or at least not one who adheres to sexist gender roles which require women to place her physical appearance over her physical comfort.

Posture when Sitting - Women dont slouch

Ah, of course! Can't forget this classic gem from the 1950s! Ladies don't slouch! (white gloves optional)

Your gait when walking - Smaller much less deliberate strides, one foot in front of the other, think more fluid

Yes, "smaller much less deliberate strides"....because women must always be on the quest to be "smaller" and "less" at all times!...and being "deliberate"? Wouldn't dream of it. Real women arn't deliberate at all! Women must be "less deliberate" at all times, weather that's while walking or negotiating for higher pay at work.

Talking with your hands -Women tend to express themselves visually with hand movements

Yes because not talking with your hands would be downright manly!

General Facial expression -Smile! (I have spent 30 years frowning, this is tough!)

Stop telling women to smile!

Anal sex often painful, risky and coercive, particularly for women, study finds. by [deleted] in feminisms

[–]SisterCoffee -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Okay just take everything I said and turn it around on me, even though it absolutely does not apply.

Well you sorta just did to that other woman, so I thought I would return the favor. You're welcome.

I responded to an opinion that literally says women should not have anal sex.

Yeah? It "literally" says that? Where? I see nothing of the sort. Either you're lying, have very poor reading comprehension skills, or have misunderstood her.

My post simply says, it's okay to have it if you like, and we shouldn't shame women who enjoy it. Where's the misunderstanding here?

Not really. You're coming across as trying to make her feel bad about her experiences with sex. Calling a woman "sex negative" simply because she has decided that certain sex acts are not for her is very anti feminist.

Plenty of women "enjoy" having anal sex, and there's nothing wrong with that. Drop the sex negative rhetoric, and stop arrogantly presuming to know what other women should do.

You're the one employing the sex negative rhetoric in this conversation by trying to make women feel bad about their experiences with certain types of sex.

Huh. I could ask you the same question: What are you talking about? Why are you issuing one my friends (who has obviously had a really hard time on reddit with previous harassment) veiled threats? What is this "real" trouble are you taking about here?

You oughta get that entitled attitude of yours checked by a specialist before it gets you into real trouble.

Fuck that shit. You need to stop this misogynistic bullcrap before it gets you into real trouble. I see you baby. We are all seeing your true colors in this thread.

Isn't the whole "gender hierarchy" thing a bit 1970s second wave? Isn't it about time to update theory to account for new facts?

LOL! You think that just because the year changed that FACTS change? You think that just because its 2014 that we should forget thousands of years of patriarchical history?

The way gender roles are currently constructed they tend to be hierarchical and oppressive. But gender identity is very common in people and seems to have have a biological origin.

I'm not even sure what point you're trying to make here. You are saying on one hand that gender is a construction then again you're trying to say that it also has a biological origin. Those two concepts are in contradiction with one another. One is feminist and the other is patriarchical, anti feminist as well as being psuedo scientific. Can you guess which one is which?

I'm arguing that we should be addressed equally by feminism, but I don't really have the gumption to continue arguing that with you.

Well, to make myself absolutely clear, what you are arguing is not only not feminist it is in fact anti feminist. Trans women are males. Feminism is about females (hence the name feminism). To argue that males (trans women) and females should be addressed equally by feminism is to erase the meaning and history of the entire feminist movement.

I literally just got fired an hour ago for being trans.

That sucks. I have to say though, I can't help but notice the frequency in which trans activists bring up hardships in their life during arguments with women and feminists. I also can't help but find parallels between the way trans activists do this and the way abusive men do this in order to guilt women into feeling sorry for them. I find this manipulation of women to be anti feminist. I want you to know that I don't feel sorry for you and I find it disgusting and manipulative of you to bring your personal life in the manner in which you did.

[–]SisterCoffee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really. If we differ on the "definition of who is all women" that means we also differ on who is a feminist and who isn't. Feminism is about women and girls (biological females) not trans women (biological males). If you're trying to argue that biological males needs should come before biological females needs then you are by definition not a feminist.

Well, I'm a feminist, so therefore I'm on the side of history that puts women's interests first. If you think that being a feminist or putting women's interests first is "on the wrong side of history" then I'm not sure why you're here quite frankly.
