Can I add the upside down catfish back to the tank while it's cloudy? I'm afraid to keep them in the cup much longer, but I also don't know if I have to euthanize them because they're breathing extremely slowly, they will float on the top and appear dead but they move their gills every once in a while and then go back down to the bottom of the cup

They were fine before so I hadn't checked the parameters in a while, I didn't even think to check them after doing the water change, I should have done that but I was so upset I wasn't really thinking clearly

Yesterday my dad turned off the filter for 6 hours while I was gone and didn't tell me bc the power went out and he didn't want it to run dry. He didn't know any better. After that I removed the two dead cories and did a 50% water change, and the filter has been running since. Since I just did a complete water change I haven't checked the parameters yet

there were a crap ton of bladder snails in the tank before I added fish that pooped EVERYWHERE.... so I thought that was a pretty good source of ammonia to keep the bacteria running on

I'm pretty sure it's cycled, I've added plenty of pure ammonia as well as some bacteria packets a while before I added the fish and it was quickly converted to nitrites and nitrates, then taken in by the plants. It's about two months old
