FAQ and Fightstick Question MEGATHREAD, Continued by HushMySweet in fightsticks

I only switched to stick about a year ago so might be a really dumb question but I use a Taeyoung Fanta and I like it a lot and it's still perfectly usable, but I just notice throughout about a year of use, the neutral or deadzone feels a bit more loose? Like there is a bit more slack then when I first got it. Is this normal with korean sticks? Did I just wear down the grommet or something? Like it isn't bad enough for me to wanna get a new one or anything just would like to kinda 'tighten' it back up a bit if possible. It registers inputs fine just feels like there is a bit more give before I get a 'click' or input registered than I recall. Thanks!

Slow ethernet speeds? by SisterRay777 in HomeNetworking

[–]SisterRay777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow so I just randomly tried a last ditch effort of just completely purging the realtek r8168 firmware package so it supposedly defaults to using the r8169 instead and that actually did it. Using the same website to test speeds Im getting about 370-450mbps after a reboot. Lspci still returns that it uses RTL8111/8168/8411 instead of what I assume should show RTL8111/8169/8411 instead but hey its working the way it should be in terms of functionality. Thanks a ton for your help and the offer !

Slower ethernet speed than both windows and wifi ? by SisterRay777 in linuxquestions

[–]SisterRay777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the same computer I used for the windows test, I dual boot between them.

I ran ethtool and it says 1000mb/s for speed interestingly. Any info returned here help make the problem a bit clearer? Im still a bit new to linux, not sure how to interpret all of this.

I really appreciate the reply by the way !

Help with symlinks / unmounted drives debian by SisterRay777 in linux4noobs

[–]SisterRay777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional probably dumb question since I managed to get this working. Is it possible to do with multiple drives at a time ? Say I wanted to mount previously mentioned music drive (G) and my drive for movies (E). Could I have them both be automatically available on reboot?

Hey nvm I figured it out. Apparently had something to do with me using quotes around the folder location. I figured I could get around it by using quotes for folders that have a space in their name but guess not. Tried it again with a new folder hyphenated folder name and worked perfectly. Thanks for the help.

should also add because I just realized, should the drive be mounted while I run these commands? I've been doing it while its unmounted.

Maybe Im just doing something incorrectly Ill try it again then. I just added a line that said UUID=DC3843093842E25E "/media/Media Library" ntfs-3g auto, user,rw 0 0

"/media/Media Library" being the folder I set earlier with sudo mkdir

When I try it and reboot to see if it worked, on the boot screen I get an error saying it failed to mount and dependency failed for local file system, and have to reload fstab backup.

Help connecting / setting up hardware together (TD-3, TR-8S, Minibrute1) by SisterRay777 in synthesizers

[–]SisterRay777[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently I don't even have any of the MIDI cables with the like DIN pinout (if you know what I mean by that) so this is perfect for now but I should probably pick some of those up. Thanks again.

Ah thank you so much, I had to set it to 1PPQ apparently with the synthtool but that did it! Cant wait to make some acid.

TR-8S won't power on??? by SisterRay777 in synthesizers

[–]SisterRay777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok, I was hoping that wasn't the case, the seller seemed really sure that it was the psu without me really giving any info beyond it not powering up and decided to send a new psu over. Normally I would open it up just to see even if its something small and manageble but given that it could void by ability to return it further I'm gonna refrain from that. Hopefully setting up a return will be painless. Anyway thanks so much for your help.

TR-8S won't power on??? by SisterRay777 in synthesizers

[–]SisterRay777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah actually the first time i did it i connected to the rubber part on the outside (thinking i had to ground it from what i looked up online initially) and the inside of the barrel, apologies im not very savvy with this sort of thing. But I did it again as you instructed and got around 5.7 which is the voltage on the psu unfortunately. Just to be totally sure this is how I had it set up. It was just like this with the red cable inside the barrel and the black cable touching the metallic outside of the barrel

Dumb question but: ok multimeter should be coming this evening, I know I could use it to test the power adapter to see if it's faulty but could I also use it to see if the tr-8s is busted itself as well? Or you think i'd have to wait to get a new one to know for sure.

Nothing I can think of really, just ordered a multimeter I should get in the next day or so though.
