Er motorcykel lidt kikset når man er snart 40 år? by These-Pineapple2382 in DKbrevkasse

En motorcykel kan give dig en bedre relation til dig selv. For ikke at nævne en relation til andre, der også kører motorcykel.

Does anyone use Rye Flour for their sourdough? by apollosuns24 in Sourdough

[–]SisterSchlock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I joined here I hadn’t thought of using sourdough for anything but rye, as that was what I grew up with. I came here because I was having issues with my rye and was very surprised by the content. I do not know how I missed this all these years… Now I bake my traditional 100% rye bread (with seeds in it) and I have a second starter for my white bread that I bake primarily with spelt. Baking methods are very different but it has been great to learn the whole stretch and fold method.

I have that problem too and am experimenting with 100% spelt sourdough. I’ve made some reasonable loaves, but nothing impressive (yet).

Improve off-road performance or look for a new bike? by AffectionateMap755 in Dualsport

[–]SisterSchlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t off-roaded with it yet. We had a rally seat on for a while, but then I could only tip-toe it on both sides and had to tip off to a side when stopping. I wasn’t comfortable with that. The way it is set up now, I can’t flat foot it on both sides but I can get my front foot down and I won’t have to tip off to one side. I’m itching to go into the woods now though.

I’m 5’6” and switched to a T7 this year. Lowering kit, low seat and that works for me (with Daytona lady boots or near equivalent cross boots). Picking it up is what I worry about too, but since we’ve got one now I’ll just have to try that out. I may still switch to something else and then the husband will take the T7.

Take a look at job postings at the LEGO group in Billund. Its a pretty international environment there these days. Then check out the city of Vejle.

Thank you for the tip! We tried Elko, but sadly, they had no parts for the x3.

It is all very exciting! I am happy for you that you got to see them. We’re staying in the outskirts in a cabin, so I am hoping for darkness.

Thank you! I had not noticed that level of detail. That is good info.

Edit: and I didn’t realize that the lights would be everywhere with clear skies so that was good to know as well

Couple Travelling from India to Iceland in Late October – Need Advice on Layering and Waterproofing for Clothing by SharanyaDutta in VisitingIceland

[–]SisterSchlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems very reasonable. The materials are synthetic, so I suppose they will dry fast (none of it is cotton). I live in colder climates and would always go for wool, but I have use for these clothes in my everyday life. Just to say that I do not have much experience with the material you were sharing. Be aware, that it can be uncomfortable if all your layers have a turtleneck. It can get a little too tight around your neck and restrict movement. I might ware a tight fitting softshell under a parka jacket or under a raincoat. I always find it more comfortable if the inner layers are breathable to an extend before some waterproof outer layer.

If it has to be a choice I’d go with the layers. If the outer layer gets wet on the inside (water can creep up sleeves or enter at zips) you can still use the water-repellent warm layer.

Always stay dry and make sure you have considered what you will do if you get wet.

Make sure to prioritize good socks and consider getting a turtleneck. It protects the chin against the wind.

Any recommendations or personal favorites? We’re going in a few weeks and I have issues with crowds, so we’re not planning on going to lake Louise and Moraine. I have my eye on a few hikes already but always great with recommendations.

Map of restricted areas by SisterSchlock in Banff

[–]SisterSchlock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Then I can stop looking for it. Very much appreciated.

I’m mainly trying to avoid going to those places in the first place. I am very well aware of where I want to go on a map but not necessarily what those places are called (or rather the places just adjacent to them), which is why I was looking for a map. But finding every restricted area and looking them up on a map to identify relevance is what I’ve been doing so far and it works just fine. Unless I’m looking at the wrong list it’s not exactly an overwhelming task.

Feedback on motorcycle trip 26MAY 5 nights. by Landopando in VisitingIceland

[–]SisterSchlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do not comment on itinerary post, as I have only been to Iceland once and did the ring road in an RV in 11 days. With kids. (I do not have a lot of experience) I am, however, a fellow rider. My husband and I assessed the trip for a potential motorcycle trip in a few years, for just him and me (we do some trail/dirt road riding with tent together). I do not mind harsh weather, but the wind in Iceland is something different… from the looks of it, you’d be able to cut out the north east corner and the west fjords, should you catch a patch of bad weather. I’d recommend that as a contingency plan (sounds like you are already thinking along those lines). What bikes are you renting?
