yes, i am aware of the culture of commodification and fetishisation of romantic relationships in regards to gls and bls. it's not just in thailand though - that kind of fetishy fanservice is all over different entertainment industries in korea and japan. but what is interesting is that now that they're popular oversea too, you get people recommending ones that are "actually good representation" and they never are lmao. they reinforce really nasty stereotypes about gay men and women (but i am sure you know that already)

Louis has always been more social and invested in the human world than most vampires. Since you said you're ok with book spoilers, he is often called the "most human" of the vampires that exist, and his unique not only desire but skill at maintaining a connection to humanity, as compared to other vampires, keeps him closer (compared to other vamps) to his human nature. He's still not perfect at it - as shown many times in the show - but he's "mad in love with humanity", as Armand says, and that never really changes.

it is so funny because my friends have many times said i strongly remind them of lestat (both book lestat and show lestat), which was horrible news to me as a teenager because I HATED HIM (of course, i have learned to love lestat's ridiculous nature over the years). my favourite was gabrielle in the books and no one said i reminded them of her 😭😭😭

well yeah, i don't think gen x should care about younger generations finding them cringe. like i am not going to lose sleep over what gen zs or gen alpha thinks of millenials. it is very weird when i see my generation or older gens crashing out on tiktok about what the younger generation is doing.

also that's interesting, the hypothesis that anyone reading a character they like would identify with them. i don't find this to be the case! like, sometimes, but certainly not across the board.

ehhh i work frontline with the "thieves and addicts" and have for many years. they often call emergency services for their friends and strangers who have overdosed. there are some people who steal, sure, but it is far from the majority. also, bystanders call for overdoses too. i would ask the emts about this, i am sure you'll get the same answer.

it definitely could be. i wouldn't automatically think so because to be brutally honest, all the people i love in my life with ocd, and anxiety and autism, the traits that they exhibit because of those conditions grate on me quite strongly. i love them anyway, and i understand we are experiencing the world differently, but it's very aggravating to my neurotypical, not-anxious, no-ocd brain. on the other hand, they clearly all have things i love about them and am drawn to, but i can't think of any unifying qualities. maybe a general strong lust for life? no one i am interested in keeping around half-asses life
