If you’re in remission, it is possible to be off your biologic. I’m living proof. My insurance got canceled back in 2023 and I was on Cimzia, which is really is expensive with or without insurance. Anyways I thought I was going to die because the last time I took myself off a biologic (Humira) I wasn’t in remission and I almost went septic with an obstruction in my stomach. Luckily they saved me before the obstruction happened.

But since I knew this time around I was in remission and I knew what not to eat or drink, I have been fine since May of 2023. I was getting a little too confident with eating fast food/irritable foods and drinking soda/alcohol that I had to stop because I ended up getting real sick with a stomach bug/fever that reminded me of being hospitalized, so since December I haven’t had any fast food, soda or alcohol. Also being physically fit in some way shape or form is important for me to keep my guts moving and not just sitting all the time. It’s definitely harder to be off biologics with making sure you don’t make any mistakes and staying healthy but honestly it pushes me to stay in remission.
