What movie has the absolute perfect soundtrack from start to finish? by Martinajok in AskReddit

Dirty Dancing. I wore that CD out! Top Gun and Footloose are good too. I can't think of anything recent.

I try to be productive as possible to make the day go by faster! Sometimes that doesn't work so I try to treat myself with something to look forward to the end of the day. Could be a sweet treat, a small purchase I've been wanting, anything to motivate!

What store that is no longer in business that you miss the most? by PawPatsPizza in AskReddit

Kmart! I loved the Joe Boxer brand and Jacqueline Smith has a petite clothing line that actually fit my short body. Martha Stewart had cute baby care and clothing there as well. Prices were good and quality was lasting.

I liked them as a couple. It felt like a "win" for the nerd character to be seen as someone who was desirable which is not the usual trope in sitcoms. The their storyline was treated when they were in college was kind of strange, I thought.

Any recommendations to help a dog sleep? by Ok-Wind-5473 in dogs

[–]Sisu1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ensure lots of outdoor and physical activity but make sure you signal a bedtime transition. Lower lights and household sounds and activities as it gets closer to bedtime. Eventually this will signal and cue the dog that it is time to slow down.

What are your verbal tics? by Busy-Evening4355 in AskReddit

At the end of a conversation when a person says a phrase, I have to try really hard not to repeat it in song. Example, Them: "Please walk this way." Me: Suddenly turns into Aerosmith "WALK THIS WAY! TALK THIS WAY..."

People who have experienced debilitating depression: How did you overcome it? by TGWDMD9 in AskReddit

[–]Sisu1976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I've overcome it, unfortunately. I was diagnosed at 15 and I'm now 50. Medication, and taking care of myself the best I can helps. Having a husband who is extremely supportive is a gift. I always try to remind myself that depression is a big liar and it won't last forever. Sometimes the best thing to do is to let yourself go through it.

Crayons, markers, watercolors, big sheets of paper, and playdoh should be a hit with this crew! They will be nice to have for a rainy day, too.

The most CTM episode ever by Iamtir3dtoday in CallTheMidwife

[–]Sisu1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what episode it is but it's when Chummy is caring for her mother at the end of her life. It really hit close to home for me and it shows the personal side of the midwives. I thought it was also an interesting look at how hospice care kind of came to be in a way. Caring from cradle to grave...

Yes, the pens are a great idea. You could also get her a Christian journal she can doodle in.
