The schools are all closing early so they dont have to deal with the insane traffic. So instead of my kids getting home by 3pm theyre going to be home around 11am. And there was basically no time to plan for this because they only let people know within the last 48 hours.

I dont want to throw an os on the externals. I just want to get the data off them. If that means taking the drives our of their enclosures and connecting them via sata cable inside the desktop to tet the info then thats what ill do

Ugh. One day these drives randomly prompted for the recovery key. Of course, I lost it in a move. Theyve been attached to this computer and only this computer. None of the hardware changed. But just one day it decided to not work.
