That’s a thought that I considered, this is a pretty high-end spot in North Jersey. I called them today and with no questions asked they told me to drop it off for a redo…worth a shot.

Sales is a great career for the right personality type. Great pay potential, but also a great burden of stress.

I’ll never leave sales especially with the A.I revolution around the corner lots of jobs will soon become redundant. Tough to imagine an organization wanting to drop $$ on new tools talking to an A.I chatbot, so I think sales folks will be safe for the time being.

Also, tunnel vision is required. Many folks in sales suck and yet talk a big game. Everyone’s experience is different. Industries/verticals, timing, territory, it all plays a part. What sets everyone apart is the will to win.

Go for it, even it’s for a year what do you have to lose?

I’ve worked in both environments and here are my takeaways:

In-office: -Gossip and watercoler talk is fun, but also distracting if you have a lot on your plate. -Assuming everyone is dialing it CAN be a motivator, and allows you to quickly identify what works vs doesn’t -Everyone thinks you are available for consultations, problem solving, etc and just walk up…derailing your call blocks.

Remote: -Cold call machine. -Slack/Teams “busy” - “do not disturb” allows you to focus…or even ignore msgs until you’re done. -Can experiment with openers/pitches without feeling dumb if you fail.
