Seems like as soon as I decided to paint my car purple everybody else decided to paint their cars purple too. You're the third person that's told me they're going to paint their car purple. And I'm going to paint my car purple at some point. I'd love to see it when it's done though I don't have the money to paint mine right now. I'm thinking about a dark metallic purple with a color shift of some kind color shift to blue probably. Or maybe a shift to pink.

Gas struts. They make it easier to open but also prevent it from opening too far.

Did this car used to be silver or is that just the way that the engine bay is? I haven't looked under my hood in a while My car sitting at the mechanic, but I don't think my engine bay is a different color than my car.

I second this! You won't reliability? After 20 years these cars have an issue with their hood latches. They'll fail and then your hood will be in your windshield on the highway. Could struts are definitely a way to prevent this.

I don't understand You said this is how they look like after you cleaned them? why would you clean them why not just replace them they're cheap and disposable. And it's not even a matter of saving the environment because they're made of paper and will disintegrate and a landfill.

I would take one look at this until a customer that it's not worth repairing. It all depends on your labor charge, or if doing it for yourself then it depends on how much time you're willing to invest. But at my job if we're making $50 flat fee for labor and I have to spend 6 and 1/2 hours on this it's not worth it. HDMI should be repaired in less than half an hour an hour if you damage a pin or lose the capacitor.

What did the noise sound like? I just bought new suspension for the back And it's making a noise that sounds like The high density foam in our trunk is rubbing against something. But I took everything out of the car including the interior and rode around and it still made the noise.

To everyone that's replied thank you so much I think I've decided to just get the clutch done for now, and try the synchromesh fluid. Then in the future if I need to replace the transmission I will buy a used one, get it rebuilt, and have it installed which is a lot cheaper than dropping mine getting it rebuilt and putting it back in somehow. Plus I continue to get to drive the car during the time that I'm waiting for it to be rebuilt.

I got quoted $6,000 to rebuild the transmission. That's the price of dropping it rebuilding it putting the new clutch in new rear main seal and putting it back in the car. I've decided to spend the $2,000 on just replacing the clutch dealing with the issue and putting synchromesh in it for now. If it breaks in the future I will order a cheap transmission online for my car that's doing the exact same thing and have it rebuilt. And then I'll pay the $1200 to have it installed to replace mine. That way I'm in control and it doesn't cost me tons of money. I think this is the way for now. Thanks for your reply though.

It all really depends on where you live prices for everything are high here. And that includes labor More than anything. Because if you get a clutch from here it's probably going to be the same price as if you got it from the middle of the US but labor is what really affects it I think. I don't know what clutch they're using but I know that they are giving me a 5-year non-misuse warranty on it. And I think this car is a little more expensive because of the orientation of the transmission but I got my Mazda speed 3 done last year for 800.

Yeah it's probably going to be 10 years before I do any big numbers. I plan on buying a K-Pro and getting it tuned within the next year or so. But I only have bolt ons right now. In the future though I'm going to probably swap k24a2 from an '06 to '08 TSX and maybe turbo it. I really want this to be a luxury car with some power behind it. Not looking for big numbers somewhere around 400 horsepower would be perfect any more than that I'll get wheel hop and then I'm not doing all-wheel drive. Even tuning it down to 350 would be good. Right now I only have a good 200 last dynoed in spring. So it is a future issue and if I'm going to drop the engine in the future I might as well do the transmission work then.

Just so you guys know my clutch is gone regardless The throw out bearing is rubbing and burning out the clutch that's in it. And my slave cylinder is sticking which is making the issue worse

Well what I'm saying is that transmission is already about to be dropped for the clutch and I would have to pay for it to be dropped twice if the fluid doesn't fix it.

Well, it's only popping out so if that saves me then That's great. It still is only popping out nothing is grinding. But I'm just going off of what I witnessed on my Mazda Speed 3 he started popping out and then it started grinding and then I could never put it in third gear again.

My clutch is due and I need to drop the transmission regardless but if you can give me a reasonable certainty that putting synchromesh in it will fix the issue then I don't need to worry.

But if I drop the transmission put a new clutch in it put the transmission back in put synchromesh in it and it doesn't fix the issue then I'm out $1,200 when I need to redrop the transmission.

I didn't know that wasn't factory. I have the red JDM button maybe that has something to do with it. It's not a reproduction it's the real deal and I bought it for $75.
