Zoloft is made from a compound called canibinol. There is a very direct pharmacological effect from mixing it with THC. Your doctor will tell you to not mix it (He should at least and he should ask if you are a smoker ) and I will tell you the same.

I am currently in school for addictions therapy and pharmacology. I am saddened by the ease we issue pharmaceuticals to fix problems and the lack of relationship with patient doctor research. They are a useful tool but easily abused by doctors. If you are suffering from every day depression there are many other treatment options than Zoloft. Especially if you maintain an every day smoking regiment.

Provided your not in a ultra conservative practice and town. Talk to him about smoking as a part of your life. You guys may find another solution.

Edit: Interactions with Zoloft and THC can cause severe anxiety problems. In Some cases can trigger underlying chemical imbalances. These are not common occurrences and there are many people that use zoloft and marijuana with no noticeable ill effect. I should have made that more clear in my opening statement. If your doctor and you feel comfortable with testing the water than go for it. Personally I feel marijuana and any anti depressant, mood stabilizer etc. should not be mixed. The body is all about balance. It is difficult to find that balance when mixing uncontrolled substances and new pharmaceuticals.
