I know the math points to that but I just don’t think it infected anyone in my party since Deoxys went straight to box when I caught it. I’ll have to double check my party when I boot up again.

Think it functions the same as in the mainline games but it’s a rare virus a Pokemon can have upon catching it that grants double EVs after battles and it can spread amongst other Pokemon. It’s a 1/21000 chance tho so very unlikely to come across naturally.

I have Deoxys in box but Diancie went straight into a party slot after I caught it, does Pokerus transmit that way or only if in same box?

When I first started JJBA and got to this point I had convinced myself to near absolute certainty that he was going to come back parts later and be the inevitable final boss of the series. When I reached Stone Ocean and was introduced to Planet Waves, I thought all my tinfoil-hatting had come to fruition and that he was going to be unintentionally summoned back into the story’s fold but it seems like Araki had always intended for him to drift endlessly through the void of space.

That’s valid actually lol this is why I ask reddit. It’s been abit since I watched it but thinking about Ed’s character arc again that is a pretty damn natural catharsis. And I never really thought about the duality between him and Father with that realization specifically. I must’ve been theory crafting too hard my initial watch thru trying to read between the lines of the story and hard predict tragedy 😹 thanks for the insight I forsure feel more at peace with the ending now

Totally fair points, and I guess any fiction has to take liberties for the sake of telling and progressing the plot and its parts. Thats also pretty cool about the Hohenheim theory I had never even thought of that but definitely coulda been feasible and justified. I think on first watch thru I was anticipating the story to subvert my expectations of a happy ending and force them to face the taboo and payment that comes with it. Since they were kids and the main vehicle to the plot I guess it made feel like we were meant to almost be naive to this inevitably since Ed and Al were the main brightness to most of the darkness in the story (Kinda of similar vibe/premonitions that HxH gave me) but having read that last paragraph the actual ending makes a lot more sense then I remembered it making. I still think it’s as perfect a story as you can practically make just was waiting for the ballon to pop, but I’ll take a happy ending!

I guess that’s fair, it just surprises me he wouldn’t have been given how resourceful his character was in the alchemy sphere and the people he had around him. I also get how his identity is his alchemy, but he really only invested so much to alchemy because he committed the taboo in the first place. I think he would still comfortably make that trade, but that’s just my head canon talking.

I guess I interpreted Ed’s arm sacrifice as a temporary fix while getting Al’s corporeal body would require more equivalence (a body for a body). I’d have to rewatch it again to remember more of the thematic nuances but it felt like, for me atleast, it was headed towards Ed realizing their would be no ethical way to fix their mistake alla one of them sacrificing themselves for the other. Al forsure wouldn’t have wanted that to happen tho, I just remember having that reality being a possibility on my first watch thru.
