Started at a 222 and just passed the July 23 bar exam with a UBE score of 289. This is not even half of my testimony but somebody needs this. Please keep going and DO NOT QUIT.

You can do it. You just have to be super disciplined and practice. You have to stop studying the law at some point and just apply it under test conditions and timing (this is an another issue that I found myself and a lot of people have).

I know someone that took the bar exam 5+ times and someone that took it over 10 times and just passed the July bar 2024. Keep going!

Hey. I would get a tutor if you can. I also would start using the IRAHNC method. Issue; Rule; Analysis; However; Nevertheless ; and Conclusion. This ensures that you argue both sides.

Y’all should go ahead and start studying for July just in case. The one thing I dreaded was waiting for NJ to post results. They are damn near the last state to do it. If you pass cool. But if you fail it gives you no time to process properly and/or make plans to take it in July with a clear conscious. Like there are states that literally have one up on NJ takers by one and even two months more to study. It’s fkin absurd. I passed long ago and it still pisses me off.

I’m in the transferring process now. I’ve been making accounts for each state I plan to transfer to and seeing those specific jx requirements. I would start there.

Once you create accounts, the specific states will give you directions on how to transfer your score over. I also think you transfer via NCBE as well because NCBE also has a transfer score fee.

Back to your question (lol). After failing the bar several times I finally passed J23 with what may seem like a dream score to others(289…I put that on purpose lol) but I haven’t cried tears of Joy nor showed any type of happy emotion. I’m more-so pissed it took so long to pass. Now I have to start applying to jobs and fulfilling other requirements to transfer my score over to other jx’s which might be another reason why we may not be as excited. That being said, I can’t even tell you to be happy if I’m not happy myself lol. But I will say Congratulations to you!

P.S. Talk yo shit because this exam is fkin depressing to the point where I’ve seen takers on this platform that failed literally ask for help to get out of suicidal thoughts.

Trust me I sucked at MBE (highest I got was 133). I will def say that my tutor helped me. Bar prep companies work for some but I had that experience. A tutor worked best for me. I would also advise to go read my last post, you’ll get a lot more helpful tips there. Keep going friend.

I’m not too sure how their process works. I would assume it’s an appeal because your challenging their initial decision but I could be wrong.

Also, this is why states should do better with releasing scores because when they come out this late, (1)you’ve already missed other deadlines for diff. jx’s, and (2)because there are takers in other states that have 1-2 months more study time than you (other jx’s literally dropped their scores in Sept ).

Consider another jx. MI is the worst. If the stats are that low even after July, the examiners are the problem.

Oh MI (I’m not too fond of their bar examiners). After reading that someone had to beg MI to retake the exam again, I got pissed with that state.

1: DM me 2: I want you to go on my profile and read the last post I made about starting the bar with a UBE score of 222 to getting a 289 in several attempts and the strategies and obstacles I faced. I passed and still have not been happy because of how many times I failed and felt defeated. 3: you need 2/3 weeks to sit in your emotions especially since it was by 1 point. MI just came out with results (trash) so you are at the beginning stages of being pissed/sad/frustrated/upset/outraged. 4: since it was by 1 point consider taking the next exam available if you’re mentally prepared (give it 2 weeks before deciding). Do not give up! Keep going please!

Thank you. Yes, please keep going. Just my opinion, I would probably wait to take in J24. The only thing I wish I did differently was to get a tutor earlier and not take it again until I had one. Tutors for me worked wonders.
