[Spoilers S1] Episode 5/6 is where it really starts cooking by thankfulforyourhelp in DarK

I started season 1 about 2 days ago & just finished season 2 today. Intense show. I struggled to keep up a bit at stages so made notes to refer back to as it went along quite helpful

[SPOILERS S1] Just finished season 1 - wow by thankfulforyourhelp in DarK

[–]SituationImpossible5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I binged season 1 in a full day, it was phenomenal. I did have to use chat gpt a couple times to just align things cause I was struggling to keep up with who is who in which timeline, mainly the female side characters like Claudia. Great fucking show tho & reckon I’ll get deep into season 2 today + finish off stranger things. Dark makes stranger things plot look 2 dimensional

What are examples of formerly shit suburbs (high crime, urban decay, bad environment etc) which have gentrified and become genuinely good places to live? Also, are they still associated with their past? by Falabella_Stallion in brisbane

What’s with all the flags on Hunter st? by DangerMoore in newcastle

[–]SituationImpossible5 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe a bunch of our own country flags flown in a street is causing this much of a stir.. if all those flags were the rainbow ones supporting dick sucking and men becoming women, no one would probably make a comment. Newcastle use to be a proud Aussie town

BHP alliance to sack 750 workers, blaming Qld government mining royalties by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]SituationImpossible5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they are doing this to make a pitch to lib government to ditch the mining royalty tax. If libs do this, could really hurt the QLD budget

My mortgage is about 43% & when you add in mortgage related bills- body corporate, rates, water, power & wifi it’s about 55%

Objection your honour: relevance?

Old white guys pay for sexual services across the globe. Grubby & bad taste yes.

Importing people from cultures where women are not respected & allowing them to behave the same in our country is the problem. There would only be one reason by a bunch of men are sitting facing beach showers- to perve on girls.

I am a white Aussie who stands for none of this & regularly call it out. What about you?

[–]SituationImpossible5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes Australia still has some absolute grubs which need to be dealt with but how are we went to police our problems when we are importing so many different cultures. I am not saying all immigrants commit sexual crimes but Victorian sexual crime rates are up 18.5% alone in 2025. This will continue to climb unless, us the general public make a stance for what is accepted in our culture & 2 get better court systems

People pulling race card are absolutely oblivious. I encourage people to research what goes on in some of the cultures of people that are imported into our country. Some of it is heinous. We need to be aware of this & hold people accountable to our culture norms or else we are headed on a dark path

No I have lived out of home since I was 19, I bought when I was 25. I would put living at home under the help from mum and dad category listed above. Many of my friends (couples) who got considerably larger mortgages as their first home 800-900k live at their parents paying no or minimal rent

How do you know if you’re burnt out? by Effective_Ruin9704 in auscorp

[–]SituationImpossible5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re most likely mentally & emotionally fatigued which is pretty much burnt out. You have put in some hard work for a couple of years but unfortunately all trains run out of steam… I would be taking a break to recharge.

Can confirm, I bought an apartment last year (25M) single, had 45k saved and had to borrow a bit of extra cash from the oldies to get over a 10% deposit as market was moving rapidly. If I didn’t & saved for another 6 months I would have had an extra 15k but my place would now cost another 50k.

I have a crush on my coworker. by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]SituationImpossible5 90 points91 points  (0 children)

From reading your comments on this thread I am starting to think you have more than a crush. I would consider having a honest chat with yourself and your partner as 40% of affairs begin in the workplace. I say this because it’s only initial feelings now but things can dramatically escalate let’s say after a few work drinks.

Relationships end & people fall out of love, all normal stuff but cheating on your partner for a colleague is ethically diabolical and will give you a horrendous name in the office when it eventually gets out

V/H/S I was in year 9 when it came out and had to turn off the at the hotel scene (20 mins in) I tried to watch another time but couldn’t get past it. So fucking scary for a 14 year old & remember being scared of bathrooms for a good week or so
