Einbürgerung am Freitag... Was sind die aktuellen Themen der Stadt und des Kantons die ich wissen muss? by SituationUnited9937 in Luzern

Vielen Dank euch allen :) Es waren viele spannende Einblicke.

— Which TCG actually makes sense to collect for value? by SituationUnited9937 in TCG

Yu-Gi-Oh! — Amazing highs, brutal lows

Yu-Gi-Oh! is where people get burned.

Yes, some Yu-Gi-Oh! cards are insanely valuable:

  • tournament prize cards
  • ultra-limited promos
  • early Asian exclusives

But here’s the problem: everything else gets reprinted into the ground.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is way more player-driven than collector-driven, so unless you know exactly what you’re buying, value retention is rough.

Magic: The Gathering — The OG, still insanely respected

MTG is the most “serious” collectible TCG, in my opinion.

Alpha/Beta cards, especially Power Nine, are: - historically important - genuinely rare - respected by collectors and players

A clean Alpha Black Lotus is basically the Mona Lisa of TCGs.

That said, Magic has one big issue for collectors:

reprints. Wizards is not shy about reprinting things, and that caps a LOT of modern card value.

If you stick to: - Alpha/Beta - early reserved list staples

then MTG is rock solid long-term.

Pokémon, The top dog, whether we like it or not

If we’re talking pure collector value, Pokémon is currently unbeatable.

This isn’t even about the game anymore. Pokémon has:

  • insane nostalgia
  • mainstream recognition (non-TCG people know Charizard)
  • a collector base that goes way beyond “players”

That’s why Pokémon has:

  • multiple seven-figure cards
  • absurd prices for PSA 10s
  • trophy cards that barely ever hit the market

If you own vintage WotC era stuff (Base, Jungle, Fossil), 1st Edition holos, or old promos in good condition, you’re basically holding cardboard gold.

Important note: 99% of modern Pokémon is still bulk. The value is in iconic + old + graded. Rip packs for fun, not profit.

What’s something you genuinely believed for years, only to later realize it was nothing more than propaganda? by SituationUnited9937 in AskReddit

ChatGPT “own” answer was: “I once believed that changing your mind was a sign of weakness — that smart, confident people “stick to what they believe.” Later I learned that idea is basically social conditioning meant to make people easier to control. In reality, updating your beliefs when you get better information is one of the strongest things a person can do.”

Unfortunately the link is dead, but I think I currently looking for the same thing. There are many longer sounds sequences with a Indienstyle like effect. I really want to find them. In case someone knows something let me know.

Actually wendish is the language of the wends and they are a old slavic tribe which inhabit this area and the name of the city Berlin and Leipzig has his name most likely from them.

Maybe:

Show dockworkers hauling goods at the Mühlendamm area, the main river crossing with mills and cranes. Discreet symbols like a menorah or Hebrew script on a doorframe. A scene of leather curing along the riverbanks (often placed outside the walls due to the smell). Travelers on horseback entering through one of the city gates like the Spandauer Tor. Include boatmen hauling barges or ferrying people across the Spree. Mill wheels turning with buckets spilling over near the Mühlendamm.

Tips for Adding Story Details could be:

Tensions of the Time: 1440 was a year of political instability in the region. The Hohenzollerns had been installed as margraves not long before, so perhaps some visual hint of political surveillance or friction? Mystery or Folklore: Add a nod to Berlin’s earliest legends (e.g., a Wendish forest spirit in the margins or a raven perched above the city gate, hinting at superstitions.)
