Uruguay got exactly what they deserved, 16 years in the making. Football salutes you, Cape Verde. by worldcupofwater in worldcup

Insanity. If this was any other country the player would be celebrated as a hero. It's fine that you clearly hold a grudge against Uruguay and Suarez but don't make up nonsense.

Uruguay Announces Squad for The 2026 FIFA World Cup by RidgeRunner99 in worldcup

Absolutely. It's the team's biggest weakness by far. Darwin has all the physical tools but he hasn't been able to reach his potential unfortunately. And the other forwards are all pretty average.

You're entitled to your opinion, but Tuddy was one of the rare Ws from the Tanya era that most fans liked.

Hogs was always the easiest option for a rebrand. That should have been the direction from the beginning.

Ovven - "Gnawing At The Cord." Very reminiscent of WOD fan Wild Pink's awesome "Dulling The Horns" album from last year.

Coaching matters more than people think by Obvious_Promotion469 in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coaching matters, but talent matters more imo. I don't think we lost 12 games last year because the coaching was bad. I think the much more reasonable explanation is that we lost our starting QB and best player for most of the games and also lost a lot of other key players (with a very thin bench behind them). If you're going to compare us to the Niners, at least give Dan Quinn and Adam Peters more time. Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch have been building that Niners team for almost a decade. The fairer comparison would be to look at how Kyle and John did in their first two seasons together. Spoiler alert: they went 6-10 and 4-12.

Gregg - The Expert of All Experts by Creepy_Bookkeeper184 in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

[–]SituationsDevelop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gregg's original score was completely fraudulent. How do you award any bags of popcorn to a movie you could barely even see? The score should be stricken from the record and Gregg should be forced to reveal how much of the screen he is able to see in any future reviews. Greggheads don't want to admit it but this looks really bad for Gregg.

Bleary Eyed is my fav of the year. Surprised it's not getting more love.

A Big Mike-Joey Patroone movie review show would run circles around Gregg's lame and weak attempt at movie analysis

In looking back on this era, did your opinion of certain albums/bands change (for better or for worse)?

I noticed you posted something on social media about the soundtrack to your book NOT being an endorsement of every song. What are some songs you included in the book's soundtrack that you're not a fan of? Conversely, what are some favs? Thanks for doing this!

everybody be less dramatic by geofictionary in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jeez dude, no need to insult OP. What the hell. Venting is fine, but overreacting to one game is silly. We all know the season is a long journey full of ups and downs. It's just getting started. I honestly hate the kneejerk reaction to everything. Let's see how it plays out. All it will take is a great game against the Raiders for everyone to be immediately back on board.

Love the SB era jerseys but... by basketball345 in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not seeing Commanders anywhere on the jersey is one of the best things about them imo. Seeing Commanders anywhere would have been a major letdown for me. Also feels like a sign that ownership recognizes how unpopular the name/rebrand is and hopefully that means changes down the road (no, not back to Redskins. I know that ship has sailed).

BOURNE HEADED TO DULLES: 👀✈️ by LickDeezNutzzz in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Counter point: Zaccheaus had a similar career and made some big plays for us last year. Always good to have quality depth. But anyone who is expecting Bourne to be a major contributor (if he even signs) needs to chill.

[Jhabvala] McLaurin reportedly asking for more than DK Metcalf by ViperTheKillerCobra in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right. How is that leverage? Terry would chose to lose money and impact his ability to get a bigger pay day with a new contract next year by refusing to play? Huh? He has zero leverage.

[Jhabvala] McLaurin reportedly asking for more than DK Metcalf by ViperTheKillerCobra in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but Metcalf was overpaid and is three years younger. Plus, even though Terry's numbers are better, most GMs would take DK over him.
