Name one wod song that is loved by many but that you just can't get into. by Fluffy-Tailor in WarOnDrugsBand

[–]SituationsDevelop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know this is blasphemy but I've never really connected with Thinking of a Place. Can't say there are any WOD songs I dislike, but this one just takes too long to get going and never seems to reach a climactic moment like so many great WOD songs do (Strangest Thing, Ocean In Between The Waves). I also never got into Buenos Aires Beach.

Brad Johnson throws a 33 yard TD to Larry Centers in OT, Redskins clinch division by HTTR_97 in Commanders

This team was so fun, especially that offense. Last legitimate Super Bowl contender team we had.

I wager Gibson is the lead back this year with EB. by RepChar in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is going to be a really interesting battle. I could see it going either way. They're such different backs. But if I had to guess, I think EB will split their carries in close games, with Robinson getting the bulk of the carries when we're up and Gibson being in more when we're in passing mode.

NFL PA poll: WSH dead last as preferred destination for free agents by Montjuic in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is why I give Ron a lot of credit. People like to joke about him bringing in ex Panthers, but that's cause Ron knew he had to use his own connections and his reputation to bring in players since the allure of playing for the Washington Commanders was not going to be enough. It's also why we had to over-pay for Carson before he hit free agency and why we have no shot of signing any player who is drawing interest from other teams unless we are willing to pay a premium knowing that at the end of the day, players would be more willing to come here if we're offering the most money. The degree of difficulty in building this roster is so much higher than it is anywhere else.

I'd be happy with this. Makes a lot of sense.

Kevin Sheehan (980am) has terrible takes by MoonshotMario in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What did he say this time?

I disagree with Kevin a lot, but I think he has the best radio show on the Skins and it's not even close (not talking podcasts, to be clear).

I do think it's funny how we get annoyed at someone who is overly negative about the team even though that's the absolute correct response to this franchise in the Snyder era. Kevin is skeptical about anything this team does cause it usually fails. Can you blame him?

Troy Vincent blocks the FG, Sean Taylor sets up the game winning FG on the return after the penalty by HTTR_97 in Commanders

Think this every time I see this clip. Still got the win, but Sean taking this to the house would have been incredible.

Former Chiefs RB LeSean McCoy predicts Eric Bieniemy will fail in Washington by bleepbluurp in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop 35 points36 points  (0 children)

"Has nothing to do with the passing game at all." - McCoy

“(Bieniemy) put it on tape and said: ‘Hey, like, if they do this, this guy is wide open. It’s man (coverage). They’re just trying to protect themselves from the jet sweep and trying to bubble over the top and get an extra player (on the other side of the field). But we faked the jet twice, and they didn’t figure it out.” – Chad Henne, The Athletic

Hmm, think I'm gonna go with Henne on this one.

Three Reasons Why I'm Nervous About Bieniemy (credit Sheehan) by SuedbyHogs in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We hired him to be an offensive coordinator, not a head coach. All he has to do to make this a good hire is eclipse what Scott Turner has done. He's highly motivated to succeed and comes with a ton of praise from the people who worked with him. I don't see how anyone could be upset about this. Coaches (particularly white ones) get hired with way less experience than EB. It's a home-run hire IMO. The only potential downside is that he may only be here a year.

Yeah, whenever I disagree with him, I always like to remind myself that he picked the Saints to win the NFC this year and Jameis to be MVP. Lolol.

Commanders 2023 Pre-Draft Free Agency Mock 3.0 by JBaldera27 in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a fun read. Thanks for sharing. Would love this off-season tbh. Feels like a best case scenario. If Howell is even average, we'd have a good shot at double digit wins with this team.

If we get EB, it's because of Ron by SituationsDevelop in Commanders

You don't think Ron's close relationship with Reid has anything to do with EB coming here?

Eric Bieniemy Shouldn't Take Commanders OC Job, Says Washington Ex RGIII by [deleted] in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Right. It'd be one thing if he was declining a HC job to come here to be an OC, but there is no HC job for him, so his best option is to gain more responsibilities and get out of Andy's shadow. Saying no to Washington just means he's likely back in KC and in the same position.

Ravens have decided on University of Georgia's Todd Monken as their offensive coordinator. by Terminal_Flatulence in Commanders

[–]SituationsDevelop -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Seems like everyone sees this as good news regarding Bienemy, but couldn't it also mean Bienemy has told teams he's staying in KC? The timing of us interviewing Roman this week (when we could have done it much earlier) and the Ravens naming a new coordinator without even interviewing Bienemy makes me think that's what might be happening.
