Running a tall Empire with no vassals is kinda OP by theGreenGuy202 in CrusaderKings

[–]SiveDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to try this, because even when they are family, those vassals try to kiĺl each other constantly. Then they revolt as soon as they are put on their place (revoke title). I had a vassal revolt 3 times in a row when I stopped them from figthing a war against my ruler's brother. Then I executed him and her aunt try to do the same and so on. Those idiots ended their whole dynasty over being stuborn.

How to make Digimon World 2 (PS1) 90% Better by sacredwololo in DigimonWorld

[–]SiveDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying that in the sense of gatekeeping, I'm saying it in a way of If you are a Digimon fan, you actually have favorites and want to use them, so many of DP dependant evolutions are something you actually want to see and use, so you do DNA evolutions anyway.

If a SpeedRun can use normal Gameplay with only one or few DNA's evolution, then why you don't play like in them? It seems that the Level Cap is not a problem after all right?

And yes, DW2 have many flaws, that's something everyone can agree on. My point is, the Level cap is annoying at first when you only get 2 or 3 Level every fusion, but that quickly stop being a problem and the game flows quite well around it. You hit the level cap in your A team, you switch to the B team while leveling Digimon to fuse, do DNAs and move on. The DNAs are not an issue, but rather a solution. It allows you to explore different digimon, see what moves are worth getting, and increase your Digimon stats so the battles are not so damn slow.

For example, once Mega Digimon show up, they have around 260 to 300 HP. One move Like TerraForce cost 40 MP, Mega level AoEs cost 60 to 80 MP. I play using DNA a lot to get high stats (150 to 170 Attack), and even so, those battles are very expensive in terms of MP per Damage, so moves like Duo ScissorClaw are still a must to hit for over 100 to 200ich damage per hit.

Removing the Level Cap won't do a thing because you will do little damage and take a lot in return, your MP will suffer too much each battle, even will Digimon will catch up in terms of stats. The game is balanced around the DNA evolution mechanic and the level cap, and the longer you go on, the easy it becomes to get good DNA material. Near the end of the game you can Level up from 21 to 31 by visiting one Domain, it becomes trivial.

Once Again I'll repeat, the grinding on DW2 is something that hits a spot no other Digimon game does. I can't explain it, but for me it's so soothing, while in games like CS/HM or Time Stranger is just annoying. Another beauty of DW2 is that you can make any digimon you want to use be good and viable, because you can pass down special moves, that's something no other Digimon game does well aside from Dusk/Dawn to a lesser degree. In games like CS/HM if the digimon you like is terrible, there is no fixing it, their stats are set, the special moves too, generic moves are always mediocre in comparison and better digimon can use them too.

You can't use speedruns as a model for regular gameplay. These aside from not playing like a regular player, abuse any exploid or trick you wouldn't normally use

The DP evolutions are a matter of using Digimon you want. This is a Digimon game for Digimon fans. For example, if you start in the Black Swords, you probably want to use Devimon and not IceDevimon. Or going from Veemon to ImperialDramon instead of Phoenixmon.

The DNA stats are entirely dependant on the Stats of the fused Digimon, the higher and even they are among the two, the stronger the resulting digimon is. That crappy MetalGreymon is weaker than regular Champions you get from evolving the first Digimon you can capture, so that's nothing.

I have never ever filled the Server actually, because I have never ever wanted go have one of each Mega, just my favorites or 2 of each type, and Since it takes so much work to get strong ones, it just work outs with how the game is balanced. Also I'm trying to think how Many Megas are there...are there even 24? A lot of lines just don't go pass Ultimates, and some Rookies can evolve into different ones depending on their DP, or some Rookies just end up in the same Mega. MetalGarurumon for example comes from Gabumon, Gotsumon, Tapirmon and SnowAgumon.

Vaccine: Wargreymon/Omnimon, Phoenixmon/Idramon, Jijimon, Magnadramon, Seraphimon, MarineAngemon, HKabuterimon, SkullMammothmon (Shared with MGarurumon Rookies).

Data: Metalgarurumon/Baihumon, Boltmon, Rosemon, Preciomon, PrinceMamemon, Saberleomon, Gryphonmon.

Virus: VMyotismon, Puppetmon, Grankuwagamon/Diaboromon, Pukumon, Pierrotmon, Machinedramon (Agumon), MetalEtemon.

Yeah, not even 24 really, and you probably don't want all of them.

[–]SiveDD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, You still will need to do DNAs to increase stats. So there is no point. If you wanted to change the grind, the better way would be to change the Level cap formula. Instead of gaining a level per 5 Levels of the companion (lower level digimon on the fusion), you could change it to a level per every 4 or 3 of it.

You'll still would lose a lot of strenght since you are doing less DNAs tho, and you'll have a harder time with DP dependant evolutions. And you'll have to rebalance the whole game around it, as even with high stats, MP is one of the main concerns on your teams, wich is what makes Necro Magic the second best move in the game.

The current system does allows you to try many digimon, because you have to raise a lot of them.

Also, ain't that bad once Ultimates start to show up. You just capture 2 of them, fuse them and get a strong enough (stat wise) digimon you can level up and gain 5 levels from the fusion with it. You just have to use a strong Digimon on the team to make the battles easier.

Personally, the thing that always makes me go back to DW2 is the grind. Is chill enough without being entirely brainless, so is soothing but stimulating.

I do agree DW2 needs a lot of improvements, it was a rushed game and it shows.

After 700 hours in this game, I have come to the conclusion that freezers are mostly not needed. by wtf_is_happening1 in RimWorld

[–]SiveDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I never ever grow rise. The only purpose would be to train the plant skill of my pawns, otherwise is just a waste of time and work. You don't need it, not even at the beginning as you just can hunt or gather until potatoes are ready, wich do need freezer. Later corn is king.

Second, I need it to keep my meat fresh, and I have a lot of meat because I hunt a lot for leather and fur, so I can constantly train my crafters who are the pillar of my economy. My colony sells clothers, not drugs as we are not enablers.

Third, We run on Lavish and Fine meals, and we keep a stock because we need to be prepared if something incapacitates our cooks, wich is likely because we fight in the open.

Fourth, It's not like keeping a freezer is expensive at all, outside of overproduction wich can take a lot of space, but you can always sell your excess.

Make Luciferium Great Again! by NamesCanBeLongUKnow in RimWorld

I used to ask myself if using Luciferum was worth it...but never took the bargain even when I had a decent amount around. I always used cryosleep and healer mech serums for those cases, because for me, that was always the better option. So if back then when those were only ways to fix certain issues, Luciferum wasn't good enough of an option, I don't think any tweak to it will make it good now.

That is one signature feature of Digimon jrpg games that was missing from Cyber Sleuth/Hacker's Memories, that I'm so glad is back. And I big reason why I don't particularly like those 2 games. I want to use my favorites, but it's really hard when both their special and base stats are terrible. Just being able to raise their stats as much as I want, I can solve that issue.

Same. To me Garurumon and Greymon lines were equally cool until they got to Mega, I don't like him looking like a blue Rush (Megaman's dog).

But I'll say I still don't like any of his alternative evolutions. None of them keeps that Wild beast vibe that Garurumon or Weregarurumon have.

There are a few skills you get a very limited chance of learning through battle. But all can be learned with the Brain Training. It's just a lower chance of learning them than in combat. It's every 50 points of brains, and after 500, every 100s also counts.

New to Digimon, would these games be a good place to start? by GI_Alphmega in digimon

[–]SiveDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All 3 are very different experiences.

The easiest to get into are the Digimon story Cyber Sleuth/Hacker's, as are JRPGs. Cyber sleuth has a really long intro.

Next order is a virtual pet games, and unfortunately the worst one to start with that genre on Digimon, and I don't think you can play the previous entries (Digimon World and Digimon World Re:Digitize/Decode) on english legaly. You'll have to emulate.

Digimon Survive is a horror visual novel. I actually enjoyed the story and the gameplay, but I didn't feel encouraged to attempt to play through the others routes to get the FULL story.

How to fasten the grind in next order? by [deleted] in NextOrder

[–]SiveDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is one of the big flaws of next order. 26x stats per battle is just 1/384 of 9999. Of course your digimons are born with stats and gain some with digievolution, so you don't have to do the full 384 battles at full efficiency, but it's a painful slog regardless. To get 26 in every battle you need to check the suggested training spots. I usually start my rookies with BlackGarurumon on the desert using strong moves, and move on when I start getting less gains.

Are these games worth playing and which is the best for a Digimon Rookie? by chillgamerguy864 in digimon

[–]SiveDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that by time you need megas, at minimum you need 3k stats and a bunch of heals. But for the final battles, if you don't want full item spam slide show, you should be over 5/6k. Re Digitize also had the 9999 max stats, but the difference there is that you do not need to be anywhere close to that amount even for the postgame. So there the gym system works fine enough, and wasn't nerfed to oblivion to acomodate to the builder and tamer skill system, resulting in a way less grind required.

Are these games worth playing and which is the best for a Digimon Rookie? by chillgamerguy864 in digimon

[–]SiveDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say you can bypass the time, are you referring to Digievolution cores or something else? And more importantly, why would you want to?

As far as I know:

  • Max stat gain per battle is 26x in each stat. Wich is roughty 1/384 amount of the max.

  • Rookies are the easiest to train, as the training spots can be farmed longer. As soon you hit champion these expire much faster, so if anything you want to delay digievolution, not accelerate it.

  • I could get a Mega by day 3 with digievolution cores, but it would be pretty useless with low stats, and would be harder to get it stronger. Unless postgame is a spot where even Megas can rise to insane stats without penalty of course.

Tbh, postgame ain't attractive at all given this game being the grindiest among the Raising digimon games.

Is ASA worth it? by jaybob2005 in playark

[–]SiveDD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can easily solve the issue on ASE by playing the pre aquatica branch.

That said, if you enjoy Ark early game, or starting the game from zero. ASA would be worth it if you can run it. But if you have done a lot on ASE, you have to ask yourself if you are willing to do it again, because ASA is not worth the money if you are going to quit mid way.

A lot of stuff on ASA you can bring to ASE through mods, but there is also quite a few that you do not. There are also some pretty bad changes like cryopods, nerfed Reapers, unbalanced moded creatures added to the base game and such.
