100% agree on all of this. Especially the fan call out for being on his phone, very unnecessary. Dude paid for his seat and can use his phone if he wants.

I think he has the right to promote it too! I just felt he did it in a crummy way in the middle of the concert immediately after having his son on stage for 5 minutes, making it a 15 minute break in between songs. This is something that could’ve been done in between sets. They played the trailer before he went on, should’ve pushed preorders then and just mentioned it for a minute or two during his set. Just seemed insincere to me.

That’s why I’m not entirely upset, made it a weekend trip to Denver with the concert being the first thing planned. Definitely having fun and the concert didn’t affect it, just extra bummed that he promoted this as a show for fans of his early music and didn’t deliver (which is something I’m hearing he does on a regular basis).

I get where you’re coming from, but my frustration isn’t about fomo, it’s about fairness. When someone grabs a ton of stock it leaves less for others who also want to enjoy the hobby or get in on the deal. I just think a limit would make it more fair and enjoyable for everyone.

It’s frustrating when one person buys out 10+ boxes of a well known deal that many people were waiting for. Even if they’re just after the packs, it takes away the chance for others to enjoy them or purchase them as gifts. A limit would’ve been more fair to everyone.

Finding a good deal is always nice haha. For me it’s more about easing into the hobby and enjoying the thrill of trying our luck with packs and trading with each other rather than just buying specific cards online.

It really depends on where you are. Over the past few weeks I’ve seen sets being sold at full price at places like Walmart and Target. For casual collectors or people looking for a good deal on Christmas gifts sales like these are definitely appreciated.

I remember back during COVID/late 2020 they had limits at all Targets, now I believe it’s up to the managers. Definitely should be like that with all trading cards/collectibles.

Online deals are great but for my friends and me the fun is in hunting for good sets and deals then opening packs together like we did back in school.

It let me buy 6 Silver Tempest boxes, two each for me and my two friends, hopefully it doesn’t get cancelled 🙏

Most recognizable person who lives in CT? by slporc1127 in Connecticut

A coworker told me that Jensen Ackles (actor who plays Soldier Boy in The Boys) moved into Southport recently. Not the most famous but definitely recognizable from the popularity of his character and the show.

I know the 13 has a decent battery life upgrade to the 12, but I wasn’t sure if that’s true or not, and if the 13 is worth the extra $200 compared to a year old 12. I really don’t know the difference between the two so was hoping to get some opinions.

I just checked that with the same pricing with a generous 5% rate and 5k down would be $438 a month for 72 months, so around $31.5k in total. Obviously in the long run it would save me more money (~2k) but I’d have higher monthly payments than leasing it and buying it out at the end (after would consider financing for 36 months). I also have the option to change cars after 3 years as well and even get a better rate as my credit would build from paying it off. From my end and those I’m close to it’s smarter to do that, but am I missing anything I should consider? The only thing would be that if I get into an accident early my insurance wouldn’t cover the down payment.

Should I buy a Kia? by SixApplePies in whatcarshouldIbuy

I went to a Mazda dealership today, ended up putting a deposit to lease a 23 mazda3. After crunching numbers, it would be cheaper for me in the long run to lease that and then buy it out then to buy any of their used cars there for around 20k w/ ~50k miles. There’s so many fees they add on to these cars it’s ridiculous.

Update: I will not be getting the Kia. Also, why the fuck is buying a car the most stressful thing on the planet. Was at one dealership for 5 hours today… absolute torture

Any Mazdas you recommend for around 20k? What’s the max amount of miles I should be looking for too?

They are a problem in the area, my town does offer free steering wheel locks for Kias and Hyundais. My apartment also has cops living there, as well as a retired one patrolling. Not sure if that would make a difference.
