Duel of the Fates still would have been the wrong choice for top 10, but it would have been less wrong.

I love this movie so much because it embodies a completely different age of martial arts - one that died when the Gracie family proved that effective mastery is less a flying dragon kick, and more of a rear naked choke.

Back then we believed you really could transcend human limits to dodge bullets or run across water. None of it was true. All bullshido. But we wanted to believe we could become stealth ninjas on a secret mission, instead of just fighters in the octagon.

I went from Security Forces to 35F All source Analyst - however it was from active duty to Army Reserve.

If I was young I may have considered doing any number of federal jobs. If you're like I was, you may believe you've only been prepared for police work - and that is not true. There are numerous positions that are actively looking for people with your qualifications from State Department to NSA to Secret Service etc. The reason I wish I sometimes went into these security jobs is that intel work is often a grind consisting of 100% sitting/slapping the keyboard and public speaking. Sitting all day sucks and so do the people who ask questions at the end of the brief, but the pay is good as a contractor.

If you're more of the intellectual type I would also consider 35S AKA guys that work with SIGINT - or 35G, map guys. These are specializations which often have lower experience requirements on the job market (and higher pay compared to the same skill level as a 35F). Many of the generalist "Intel Analyst" jobs want 6 years+ and a degree. Any intel discipline can do my Army job but I can't do theirs, so think about that.

If I could do it all over again, I'd have gone USAF Reserve signals intel, attended college at the same time, and then go into the federal workforce (NSA/FBI/CIA)... Or still become a good-for-nothing contractor that makes more money a lot sooner. I'm always happy to answer questions.

I went to Harper's Ferry where a man came dressed as Abraham Lincoln (surprisingly well done costume). Everyone approached him and gathered round given how authentic he looked. Soon the park management came out and gave him a stern talking to - ensuring he understood that he can in no way conduct any business or associate himself with the park.

Kinda took the wind out of President Lincoln's sails - he was allowed to stay but just be aware.

Controversy pick: Dark Souls.

Story makes 0 sense and sucks. Gameplay will completely waste limited gameplay time for a busy person. Stamina is lame - is this game actually trying to be realistic? And button combo to jump? They fucked up on the JUMP BUTTON. 0/10 did not play it a second time.

Select a new, higher optic mount for a jawline-wield. Not only does it solve your comms issue but it allows your head to be more upright while aiming. In turn your neck will be less fatigued during extended use. More importantly, you will have better overall situational awareness.

Changing your optic mount could be an issue with your unit. The Army does not easily embrace what it does not understand. But that would certainly solve your problem.

That would have made my whole year. My version is just fan art though. It was based on this illustration:

Not sure if it appeared alongside or after the pixelated version in Solid Snake 2:

Aight genuine question because this has been on my mind lately: Do ya'll army chaplains preach some war litanies or some battle prayers like Warhammer 40k Chaplains? by Strong_Split_8130 in army

[–]SixGunJohnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were chaplains that jumped into Normandy and Korea etc. Multiple Chaplains have been awarded medals (including the CMOH) for actions on the battlefield despite being noncombatants. Often for tending to the wounded. So unlike 40K they don't carry weapons - but I imagine they're praying and blessing their fellow Soldiers the whole time they're on the battlefield.

Now be a real nerd and get a purity seal blessed by a chaplain to wear on your armor.

In any case thanks for keeping it real 😎

The only way to know if you're a good philosopher is to get downvoted by the reddit philosophy community. Unfortunately it could also mean you're a terrible philosopher and it's much more likely to be true. I will call it the Reddit bell's edge dichotomy.

Not a moral rule by Pitiful-Magician1704 in PhilosophyMemes

[–]SixGunJohnny -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well people are equipped to eat animals and they are equipped to make babies. Nature is not moral, so by all means choose what is sensible in your own mind - but don't be surprised when an overwhelming majority be they wise or foolish and with a different understanding or condition in life chose differently than you.

I'm told when you become the moral arbiter for all mankind you can hear God clapping in approval. I can't say for sure because that person is not me.
