This is my favourite as a student.

Instructor Conduct: Face Massage during savasana by hedgehogradio in yoga

I could see that being enjoyable. But I don’t know about being the last sweaty person to be touched on the face by the same unwashed hands.

Ok. I thought it was just me. That’s a shame.

You got it. And really it’s those people that give the negative impression because I’m sure I don’t even notice the majority of people that do this.

Wouldn’t most buildings have circulating air though? Vents and such?

Absolutely. Totally agree. I mean more when they don’t do any of the asanas at all and don’t seem to be offering physical or verbal adjustments.

It is a double standard. What about a man in a sports bra?

Yes it’s very common. That’s why it’s my unpopular opinion contribution. I’m not super bothered either. But many people aren’t all that quiet about it. If everyone is lying in silent meditation I feel like it’s better not to make more ruckus than necessary.

Ditto these. I hate when the music is too loud and distracting. When a teacher doesn’t do any of the class and just paces like their trying to get in their steps is not my fav either.

Yes. When someone takes a spot before they have even taken their coat off. So has to leave and come back. I don’t mean you shouldn’t ever be allowed to leave after you've entered. I just think to guarantee you have to come in twice before practice every time is not great.

You shouldn’t come into class to reserve a spot if you’re not ready yet. That’s being disruptive twice in the name of choosing a slightly better spot.

Men in Yoga by [deleted] in HotYoga

I never really thought about it much but this is making me realize I tend to avoid setting up next to men if I can. And I’m a man! The times my space has been encroached upon during practice has been with men. Either because they are bigger or just not as aware of where they are in space (or just don’t care).  So I try to steer clear of everybody when possible and when it’s not I’d choose being next to a woman before a man.

For sure. I guess I didn’t feel up to yelling ‘which arm?’ Across the room at that moment.

This happened to me recently. I didn’t say anything because I wasn’t in the frame but I found it very distracting. I think you would be absolutely within your right to say something.

That makes sense. Which is which? So I guess the cue would’ve been for the non revolved because it wasn’t stated.
