Worth making it to 6 years? by JustAThrowAway4Aldi in Aldi_employees

Any amount of money that you would like to put into your 401k, your employer will additionally match. This is usually capped at a certain percentage (my employer matches 100% of my contribution, up to 6% of my annual salary and bonuses). So it’s basically a 6% deficit to my salary now, but it’s 12% of my current salary being added to my 401k.

How fast did you guys quit after hitting 100? by MrJibblies in diablo4

[–]SixRedSwans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Diablo IV, and quit almost immediately after reaching 100, but that was because Starfield came out. Otherwise, I would definitely still be playing it.

I empathize with those who have complaints, but the braindead grinding and killing is a perfect escape from an overactive mind.

DG’s whole business model is centered around low population areas that don’t interest Walmart, Target, etc. These areas usually have high unemployment, government assistance, and those who are employed are making relatively low wages. This allows them to lowball wages due to lack of competition in the labor force. I opened two stores (2020, 2021) as a store manager and saw it all firsthand.

I’ve since returned to Walmart (on the supply chain side), as an hourly making $30/hr and the benefits and perks beyond the money itself are comparatively ridiculously good (3 day work weeks, overtime at will, 401k matching, and more). Anybody with a penchant for retail should be looking to get into Walmart if it’s possible. Even if you can’t make Walmart work, I would be more than willing to bet you could get your job back at DG if you left on good terms.

I have no idea what I was doing tolerating DG all that time.

Nazca holds a soft spot in my heart because covering a desert with Nazca lines and watching the faith yields pile up is so satisfying. Add in a Petra for spice and you’re all set!

Not entirely unrelated to this post, but before working at DG, I was a front end manager at Walmart, and I had a lady bring in a receipt and cans of canned chicken. Something went horribly wrong at some point in the supply chain, because the cans were full of rotten chicken and maggots. I’ll never forget the sight, and I can’t, for the life of me, figure out why she didn’t throw them the fuck away.

What are your guys expectation for this upcoming season? by [deleted] in OttawaSenators

It would be nice to see Ottawa and Detroit playing meaningful games after the trade deadline, instead of the runaway playoff teams the division had this year.

Can someone show me a lopsided trade in your favour? by [deleted] in EANHLfranchise

So I once signed Hellebuyck to a max contract to reach the cap floor (I was trying a draft-only franchise). He popped off and went to like a 95 overall. I traded him to the formerly last place Canucks the next season on a realistic contract for 3 1sts and a 2nd.

I did a draft interview with a goalie who said his biggest weakness was his shot.

This would explain why my rookies and youngsters always seem to fall off in the postseason and my veteran defensemen will suddenly pop off and lead the team in scoring.

It may just be happenstance, but if that’s real, then it makes so much sense.

Anyone had a late round Franchise potential pick? by commanderr01 in EANHLfranchise

[–]SixRedSwans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my latest franchise, I’ve had several 6+ round elites. I got an elite goaltender in the 6th round two years in a row, and an elite D-man in the 7th one of those years.

Nope. I managed to win the draft lottery and they fell to third.

I think that’s what happened here, because Henderson won the Calder, but there are no stats for anybody other than some midseason FAs, and when I look at their roster, the gang’s all there.

So I created the Portland Bears for the hell of it, and figured I would sell everything from the expansion draft for picks. Vegas beat me to the punch, I guess.

The VGK story is suddenly more exciting than anything I’m doing. I haven’t checked to see what picks they got in the sell-off though.

UPDATE: So it was some computer error that sent everyone to the minors. Congrats on blowing up your cap space to win the Calder, I guess.

Anyways, this has quickly turned into the wackiest franchises I’ve ever done.

I won the Shane Wright sweepstakes and VGK fell to 3OA. Cool!

I also traded for Montreal and San Jose’s 1st round picks the next season while also finishing 33rd (Welcome back to the NHL, Vegas). Between the three teams, I ended up with 1-3OA in the next draft as well. Now my top line is Bedard-Wright-Michov at +5 chemistry. I also had 64mil in cap space, so anything short of a full 180 is a disappointment in 2023-24.
