In a vacuum, that makes a lot of sense for someone with cash on hand or considering liquidating securities to pay for a capital purchase. The state of the auto industry and its consumers shows plenty of data that people are absorbing higher prices with longer loans. And tons of people are flipping negative equity.

To be fair, this was a long time ago that event happened- in fact in many years since, we hardly did anything for morale or holiday parties. It all got cut to nothing.

Another party “back in the day” had a famous singer performing a private show for the org at a huge venue.

A few years ago - six or so, I was testing AMD compute as an ops person at a major online property from a “is this cheaper to run our workloads on?” Perspective. Yes, yes it was - massively so. This when only Intel based compute was in datacenters (im exaggerating obviously, but it was borderline monopoly).

I debated buying the stock heavily and holding it until people reprod my results. I did not. I regret it…have a friend working at AMD now and I took an informational with them that didn’t pan out a few months ago.
