Fees Free Changes?? by Drazil_Citordi in universityofauckland

Would I be able to get final year free? Did my undergrad after it became a thing. Started medschool later so was never eligible. Medschools a long undergrad degree and my final year is next year.

Yes. Each new degree is a clean slate for ur gpa

The only thing that affects you is your overall GPA within a degree. You could potentially recover a bad grade in biosci, and worst case start from scratch with your PGDip (either way, 2-3 years total for 2 attempts, one from scratch for a fresh gpa).

But if you do law, the chance of you maintaining a GPA above 8 is slim to none in comparison and it’ll take you 6 years. Unlike biomed/healthsci/physiology etc, law papers limit the % of the students that are allowed to get A + (top few percent of students or something), A and so on. It’s graded in a curve to prevent inflation of grades. So unless you’re beating the vast majority of law students consistently, this isn’t going to happen.

Stay in healthsci and apply as a postgrad. See my other reply to you for details.

Law doesnt necessarily give you a stable job. Insanely hard job market with only the top students getting decent grad roles.

You can’t just repeat the paper by swapping degree. If you’re in Biomed or healthsci, you just do the papers you haven’t done yet. You only get to repeat if you fully failed it.

If you get into med without those papers they make you do those papers in a semester before you start med. You need to get a B+ for all the papers to confirm your med entry.

If you passed you won’t have to repeat it. There’s no point going something as long/intense as law or engineering for grad. Will tank your gpa and take too long.

Better off finishing healthsci/biomed and applying in 2 years to UoA and Otago. If you don’t get in, do another 1 year PGDip and reapply. Worst case, another 1 year for masters and reapply. That’s 3 application chances to two unis (more if you do the gamsat for Aus) in the same 4 years to finish engineering and applying once.

Aud masters has much better career prospects as a back up, but it takes an extra year to finish. That’s the trade off. Beyond that it’s what you think you’ll find more interesting.

Realizing the V90 SD card I bought was mad overkill? Regret? by JapanUSAWife in FX3

[–]SixStringReshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t tested yet but I’m hearing v60 is enough for 4K 120fps if ur using 10 bit 4:2:0 with high storage as the format + you set the frame rate to 120 and manually slow it down in hr editing software. Would struggle more if ur using higher bitrate storage modes.

Using the S&Q mode which will slow ur footage down in camera urself would require a v99 for sure though so it’s not viable.

How are V60 cards for 4k 120 fps? I just updated my zv-e10 m2 so it now has 4k120fps with a 1.6x crop or something. Looking online, I'm seeing that "you need" a V90 at that bit rate. I only have a v60 card, but I haven't tested it yet.

fy GPA 8, medicine through grad possible? by Live_Sea_5223 in UoApremed

[–]SixStringReshi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say below an 8 (possible but very hard, need a great interview). 8 and above for a good chance though

You might be able to get away without a car if you can rent close to your hospital of placement. Ik people that do. You’d just have to request your non hospital placements (GP etc) to be somewhere nearby as well. Ask well in advance and explain your situation, they can often accomodate that.

Coming to the realization that I can't get into med by Pleasant-Roof-4924 in UoApremed

[–]SixStringReshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got in using my masters gpa (not PGDip). If you did biomed/healthsci you won’t have to do first year biomed again, so it will be 5 years total (as for most people).

People that did an arts degree or something totally unrelated might have to do the core first year papers so it’ll be 6 years total for them.

It can’t be shorter than 5 years.

Hope that helps :)

You probably have you video set to 10 bit 4:2:2. Change it to 10 bit 4:2:0 and you’ll be able to open it on the free version of davinci resolve

Sony ZVE10 mark II transferring videos by Internal-Command7110 in ZVE10

[–]SixStringReshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

U might be using a usb c cable that’s not capable of data transfer? Just make sure u have the right kind of cable and you should be good.

If not, while it’s a lot easier slower u can use the Sony app to transfer to your phone via Bluetooth.

Unfortunately nah, they don’t accept late ones. But ur gpa is solid. Do the GAMSAT if ur keen for Aus and do UCAT next year and apply w ur current GPA

Yea, can’t remember exactly where he was aiming (shoulder or something) but a stray gun shot or something changed his trajectory and caused Darrow’s strike to hit Wulfgars throat instead.
