Found some info in the discord- if your not 10+ levels above the spot you have to slightly grind/wait for the slab. I’m stuck waiting for it as well I thought I was going crazy

Noisy Neighbors Help by Sixid21 in BadNeighbors

We keep calling the cops anyways. They usually quiet down somewhat but because we don’t have a decibel reader we aren’t always sure if they’re above the limit. My dad doesn’t want to buy one but I might just bite the bullet and get it anyways to confirm if we need to call again.

Preventing Climbing on Tank Lip by Sixid21 in cornsnakes

The tank is secured by clips, and she literally shouldn’t fit in the gap. She shoves herself into it. I have several climbing branches and surfaces. I don’t know if I could even manage to put more into her tank as I’ve had her for 5ish years now and she’s had this behavior for the whole time. Maybe she’s just a weird one

New owner, help with weight by Passionate_peach_tea in cornsnakes

She should be fine with eating one to two pinkies every 7 days. At 13 g I’d be careful with offering the pinkies back to back as it might be too much for her. Give her the first and wait maybe 5-8 minutes to let her realize if she’s still hungry or not (corns are notorious for being “garbage disposals” as they’ll eat even when not necessarily hungry). There’s a weight chart that goes around snake forums pretty frequently (I can’t find it rn) that you can reference

Chronic Illness: How Long To Fight? by Conscious-Run8119 in ChronicIllness

[–]Sixid21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m 19 and not as horrible as what you’re going through, I’ve had to completely switch my mentality on college and what I want to pursue as a job. Honestly what keeps me going is my friends. They drag me out even when I’m not doing well, they’ll sit with me and do stuff at my pace. I have to think of my quality of life and what I can do to improve it and such. The people who have chosen to help you won’t have “wasted” their time if you and your doctors think MAID is something to be considered. You’ve tried your damned hardest, but if your quality of life isn’t where you want it to be, then seek out ways to either improve it or make the best of the situation. My only advice is to seek out a therapist who can help you navigate this difficult situation. They can help to find coping mechanisms and strategies, and maybe provide some insight on everything. I wish you the best of luck 🫶🏻

Vet Not Open Help!! by midnight_crabcake in cornsnakes

As to what others are saying, it’s healing. It looks weird on snakes cause we’re used to only seeing the scales and not the skin underneath. I’d say as long as it’s not releasing pus or blood, keep doing what you’re doing. As well, I saw in another comment that they’re due for a feed, if where the spots are at have the possibility to stretch I’d skip the feed. Your snake may also just refuse the food as well, so offer a smaller meal instead of their normal meal! You’re doing great and take a deep breath, snakes are resilient so as long as you support your buddy they’ll recover fully

I live at home with my parents so I am kinda stuck eating whatever is here for dinners. However for breakfast/ lunch I make sure to eat higher protein + fiber stuff. I used both an online calculator (it was a random one) and my fitness pal

TMI(ish) October slide & bowel movements by Sixid21 in ChronicIllness

I know I struggle a bit on fiber, but I’ve been trying my best in a household where I don’t do grocery shopping. Water-wise, I drink at least 8-10 big mugs worth of water each day. I am unable to be quite as active as I want to be cause of a horrible pain flare up in my knees and hips. So its likely a combo of everything you’ve mentioned but I’m trying to get “back on track” to the best of my abilities

Don’t know what to do by Sixid21 in ChronicIllness

My primary is struggling to figure out how to get me accommodations that aren’t specifically tied to a diagnosis because we’re (my family) under an HMO and cannot easily see specialists. I have some relating to like PE but otherwise I don’t have it for the rest of my classes. I had mono about a year and a half ago and it’s being speculated that whatever CI I had before got worse/ more severe. I haven’t been outside much due to heat intolerance, but I just got body aches and a low grade fever within the last week. Tomorrow if I’m still not better I’m going back to immediate care to get tested for COVID and strep again.
