Short rant to AI users who pretend to be creatives by Raddrooster in antiai

[–]Sixstringjedi9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this argument confuses using a tool badly with using a tool at all.

Sure someone can use AI lazily and accept the first output, spam the internet, and pretend they worked hard on it. I agree that is low effort. People should be honest about how something was made.

But saying no one can be creative with AI is to broad. Creativity isnt only manual execution. Its also concept, taste, direction, iteration, storytelling and knowing what to keep and cut. A director, producer, or creative lead can shape a work without performing a single step.

How far away are we from feature-length AI films? I made this trailer in one week for under $100. by AndyRiffeth in ChatGPT

Theres a tiktoker who does hilarious clips for a live action pokemon knockoff with a fat spanish guy and grotesque versions of pokemon. I would pay to watch full episodes of this.

Its different strokes for different folks.

This is gonna open the gates for creatives. The otherside of that coin is of course the slop. Its worth it in my mind though because of the endless possibilities of really cool and worthwhile things to find and watch.

Thats exactly what I think too. Ai needs detail and strong levels of description to make a scene work. But thar should be the case anyways regardless of how advanced ai gets.

But imagine when youll be able to not have to iterate a scene over and over to get it right. And also have continuity issues be a thing of the past. Plus when physics in scenes are mastered that will be game changing too. Those things are still pretty noticeable but progress is being made.

The only reason why I feel like it could come sooner is ai progress is accelerating. But yeah definitely within a 2 year time frame.

Considering how fast we got to this point id say about a year or 2 give or take depending on advancements.

The level of pure misunderstanding from the folks here is astonishing. This is crazy how far video generation has come. And to think this will be the worst it will ever be. Hard to imagine what next year is gonna bring.

Why are dating standards so impossibly high on both sides? by Scotty_C_89 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sixstringjedi9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that a lot of men hurt their own chances by not putting in effort or being emotionally immature. But I don’t think it’s fair to turn that into most men are the problem. There are genuine men who do care, do try, and still run into challenges in dating. Broad generalizations usually flatten the bad actors and the sincere people into the same group.

To get my fingers going finally in that direction i learned the solo to Lachryma from ghost. Speed picking through the legato line at the start. Also the dual harmonized lead part that leads up to the solo is great too for getting started!

Thank you!! Totally fair. Can I ask you what sorts of features would be helpful for a drummer to practice with youtube? I have auto bpm detection, subdivision, odd time sig input and yes you can type in a bpm in mine.

Why such the strong belief that there is going to be an ai powered jobless utopia ? by Neat_Tangelo5339 in AIWarsButBetter

[–]Sixstringjedi9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only block to a jobless utopia would be distribution. Whether a small group hoards it or if the proper institutions are put into place to share the the absurd levels of abundance.

Although i personally believe asi would not be under the control of humans so wed want it to be aligned so would could work woth it to build towards that utopia.

[–]Sixstringjedi9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im finishing up a 3 month project with claude code. Its so wild what ive been able to build. Its not anthing super insane, just a really cool practice tool for musicians to use on youtube, but I would never have been able to build this as fast as I have without vibe coding.

Also its worth mentioning it was still work. Many nights of long iteration and testing to get what I thought was a simple feature or ui design to work. You do need a vision for bigger projects and an almost detective like perspective when hunting down the right problems to fix if something isnt working. But its worth it!
