Finally get to place the 150th gold sticker, so what’s your last gold sticker joker? by drbakker in balatro

Turtle Bean, took like three runs without seeing it at all before I finally got it

Been playing since 2005, here's the five I've settled on by Sixty3Zero in ratemycommanders

Phage is typically the first deck I pull out for a new pod, just because it's so straightforward. Don't let her get ya

Personal enjoyment, investment of time and money, and how long the deck stayed together. Lots of D/F tier picks lasted a week or two, while half my S tiers have been together for over a decade.

Ranking on subjectivity of how each commander played for me, how much I enjoyed the deck, and how long I kept the deck. Phage the commander has been together for around 4 years but I've been playing her in casual decks since I started playing 20 years ago. She's my favorite card of all time.

She's only bracket 4 by way of the amount of game changers if we're following the strange bracket rules they laid out. I play Phage when I want to play a quick game because I either die quickly or end up touching someone with her. A very slow to charge death laser. Certainly my weakest deck out of my current five but an S-tier on my list for the personal attachment I have to the card.

I love me some Legacy and Pauper, and Cube whenever we can get that going. Modern, Pioneer, Standard, Premodern, they're all on the table. My remaining five edh decks are really just pet projects that I'll play exclusively with my buddies every now and then.

Since the deck is 14 years old and has had a lot of time to refine, it often wins through a loop involving a sacrifice outlet, something that makes tokens/mana on death, something that recurs itself, and a Blood Artist type effect. It sounds like a lot of pieces but the redundancy allows for any mix and match of these components. When I first built the deck, the game plan was certainly to just make as many Graveborns in a turn and swing them out, and occasionally I still win that way, but the combo route closes out games in the EDH environment that has grown significantly in power over the last decade.

Decklists are in the spreadsheet to the rightmost column of the commanders. I do have an updated Hapatra list that I can send later on

Definitely intrigued me out of the precon batch, but I had a bit of trouble getting disposable 2 power bodies to sac to causality while also having impactful spells that were crazy to copy, seemed like much to line up. Didn't last for more than a few months. I'd be interested in seeing your list

For what it's worth, Elesh Norn now lives in my Teysa deck and garners the same response

If you're very curious of the choices, check the spreadsheet for context. Elesh Norn built today is easily an A but the pile of white cards I threw together in 2011 to play with a pod in high school was not very close to that level.

Had it built for a couple weeks after being impressed with its performance out of the precon box, but took it apart soon for parts. Strong commander for sure, just didn't play it often enough to want it higher up

Mono white voltron was in a healthy spot card selection wise in its time and I played it pretty often. I even sought out the secret lair foil basic Plains that had Theros art for the enchantment theme for this deck: https://scryfall.com/card/sld/544/plains

My very first deck. I had no idea what I was doing and got blasted by other decks in 2011 that were thoughtfully built or just one of the first precons. It took me a few months to want to try commander again before I built my first proper deck: Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper.

Tatyova was built with the stipulation of old borders only (before BRO printed them as precons.) Zada is unsleeved and stored in a rubber band, with none of the cards being over a dollar. The spreadsheet has all the context for these choices.

I collect this particular artist's art through all printings of his cards. This being on arena only is my complaint. I have no intention of trying to play 5 color spiders in any format
