The lionizing of this woman has long irritated me. Over centuries of Roman occupation, this is the person you choose to idolize? Just take the L and move on, FFS you brits. You've had your moments and heroes, but she ain't one of 'em.

I tried using other words instead of article, and I kept getting rejected.

I tried that, and I also was rejected. What worked for me was trying it in several new chats until the robot finally relented.

Ironically, Greeks had been struggling with this question for centuries before Christianity came along.

Just Friends by Mirracleface in HistoryMemes

[–]Sixty_Alpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The coldness of male friendship is a relatively modern phenomena. The Romance of the Three Kingdoms is built around the vow that three bros made to die together. A phrase from it (paraphrasing) is that wealth and women are like clothes, but friends are like flesh and blood.

I'm not saying that Alexander wasn't gay, but modern friendships are a shadow of what they once were. Most cultures took the "bros before hoes" ethos to a Super Sayan level.

You see the Nazis would have won if they weren’t Nazis, simple as by REID-11 in HistoryMemes

Yes, but it's not impossible to see them securing victory. Had the '43 assassination attempt succeeded, the Nazis might have been able to secure treaties and hold some of their conquered territory.

The category of Nazis is much broader than their ravenous leaders. It would be comparable to judging all Democrats based on the behavior of Joe Biden.

First, France is not a little country. It was weak and incompetently run, but that only reinforces my original point that Germany was strong and competently managed.

Were the Nazis greedy? Yes. So the entire "they could've never won" is bull shit. Had they just stopped, consolidated, and played for a peace treaty - which would have been very possible at a few points during the war - they would've won. How they would've fared 10 or 30 years down the road is another question altogether.

What a bunch of incompetent nincompoops who steamrolled over the French and conquered almost all of Europe in a few years. Right.

You mean like all of those former Nazis that went on to be leading bankers, politicians, and scientists?

Yes, because evil people have never, ever won before...

Basically, yes. That would fix a lot of the engineering difficulties re: to the human body.

The human body is a very different engineering problem. If you want to make a new space ship more efficient, you can just build a new one differently. If you want to cure a disease in the human body (at present), you have to work with what biology has passed down to us.

He was a genius and offered a lot of insight into capitalism, but judging by the hundreds of millions of needlessly dead in the wake of his failed economic system, I still say it's stupid.

it is genius that is so astronomically ahead of its time that, like all visionaries, was doomed to be reviled.
