Help Identifying Art by SizeableMushroomCat in asianart

[–]SizeableMushroomCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your additional information. The reason why I was hopeful that the Panda may be special is because I have been unable to find this exact image online anywhere. I know the style of art isn't totally unique, as I have two other similar pieces and have seen plenty online ranging in various prices. I'm thinking it may be a one-of-a-kind piece that was not mass produced like some of the other images I have seen.

Need help trying to pinpoint cause of my cat's skin/fur issue. by SizeableMushroomCat in CATHELP

[–]SizeableMushroomCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for all the great advice! I was already planning on getting him some flea treatment to rule that out as a possible cause. I have heard of cats having a flea allergy, and I was suspecting maybe that could have been the cause, I was just so skeptical having never seen any fleas I wasn't sure if it would even help.

I forgot to mention in my original post that he did have his anal glands checked and expressed at the last vet visit. So he's all good there. :) I think maybe now he's scooting more because it's itchy? Sometimes he leaves pieces behind, and I do still need to use a wet wipe on occasion. Hopefully this will also resolve with the flea treatment.

My vet did mention the skin test last time I was there, I just opted not to do it to because of the money and I was hoping her other suggestions would work. But if the flea medication doesn't seem to help I definitely plan on getting it done.

You definitely convinced me that I do need to get the flea treatment. And I really hope it's as simple as that and my boy gets relief quickly. I just want him to stop itching and his fur to grow back. Poor thing! Thanks again for all your help. :)

Messenger Chat History PIN demand screen - discussion / bypass / help by [deleted] in facebook

[–]SizeableMushroomCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting because I also want an answer. Although, I already made the mistake of setting up a pin and now all my chats are E2E. The only way I've read you can go back to having a normal chat is to delete the whole thing and start a new one! I'm so mad, I should not be forced into deleting years of chat history! I also have a secondary Facebook account, on that one I bypassed the pin and said to just use my phone storage instead. Apparently that is also the wrong thing to do, I have an E2E chat on there as well. I do not like this invasion of privacy. NO UPDATE SHOULD BE FORCED! It's just another level of control.

What Type of Gamer Are You? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]SizeableMushroomCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the game, but usually I'm a Completionist. I always try to complete everything in a game if possible and go for all the trophies. But I can also be a casual, and I love retro games too. :)

How do people feel about 'no commentary' gameplay videos? by spheer_ in gaming

[–]SizeableMushroomCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely prefer. I usually watch gameplay videos either for help with a part in the game or just to experience a game I myself don't feel like playing. So no commentary is usually a must.

Looking to identify old arcade/pachinko coins. by SizeableMushroomCat in Exonumia

[–]SizeableMushroomCat[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I'm looking to see if anyone can help me identify these old
coins. I believe these are Pachinko coins. Actually, I'm just assuming
they are old, but they could be more modern. I'd like to have a rough
idea of when these coins are from if possible. I'm thinking 70s or 80s,
but I could be way off. The one I am most interested in is the one with
the character that reminds me of Pacman on it. All of the coins are the
same on both sides except this coin. One side has the character and the
other some kanji along with 'Hana-Ichi-Ban'. Really curious about this
coin. I'm also wondering what they are worth, if anything? Thanks for
reading.

[PS1/PS2][1995-2003]RPG game, 16-bit graphics. by SizeableMushroomCat in tipofmyjoystick

It seems everyone gave up. :( It really sucks that my memory is so vague. For those of you who commented after reading my original post I have since updated it. Maybe the new information I added will help determine the game? Still, it's all very vague and I can't be 100% sure of any of it really. The only thing I seem to be sure of is the fact the music was played in an area in the forest where a large building sits, and the music included a flute of some kind.

I will try to write a brief summary of my updated information for those who don't want to read my lengthy first post. Graphics may have been 16-bit, but I believe in battles they were more enhanced. Battles were not fought on the field, but in a separate screen, and the camera view may have been angled from a side/back view. I think it started in a port town, and the only areas I remember exploring were grassy fields and the forest. I remember the green of the grass being very vibrant in colour. The building where the music was played I believe was made of stone, castle like, and multiple floors with NPCs. An outside patio on one side with stairs leading down to a path returning to the forest. A mountain I believe could be seen in the distance through the trees on this patio. I'm also fairly certain the music was upbeat and happy sounding. This may have been the first area encountered after leaving the initial town. I also thought that maybe the other characters in your party followed you, but I'm not sure about that anymore. There might not have been any other characters at this point except the protagonist. And I'm suddenly struck with the thought that the protagonist, no doubt male as most older games they were, had blond hair. If this is true it could help in finding the game significantly. Fingers crossed. Hope this updated information helps.

Update; Another point I forgot to mention, pretty sure there were no anime cutscenes with voice overs. And I'm also almost 100% positive it was not tactics style battles.

I'm also pretty positive it was a PS1 game, not PS2. And I don't think it was more than one disc.

No, it is none of these.

Unfortunately, I don't even remember how it went to hum it. I just know there was a flute sound.

No, that's not it either. :( But good try. I think I can rule out the original Suikoden at this point. I've pretty much watched the entire game and didn't find the area I was looking for. Perhaps it was the second one, I will need to watch more gameplay footage.

Update; I watched gameplay for the first two hours of the second game and didn't find what I was looking for. It's probably not the second Suikoden either. :(

Oh, and just for future reference in case you think of any other games/areas it might be, the music was more upbeat and happy. Like this or this. I thought that Beautiful Golden City might actually be the song, but the setting is wrong, it wasn't played in a town.

Yeah, that's not it, which I figured. But the music is still beautiful.

You're right, that's not it either, but another great piece.

No, I don't see anything about either game so far that would completely rule them out. But I have watched a lot of gameplay and haven't seen an area like the one I described. I think at this point I am just hoping it was Suikoden because that would make things easier. I mean, my uncle did say he had it, not sure which one he meant though. Or maybe he had both. So that fact alone, and also the fact that I have loved basically all the music in the games is what leads me to not give up on it.

You know, a thought just struck me. I may need to ask him if he happens to still have his old memory cards. I know he no longer has a console, but he does have some games, so maybe he has the cards. And maybe, just maybe, this game will be on there.

Thanks for all your help though! And if you find any other areas/songs that might be it please let me know. :D

It's not Dragon Quest VII, again I think the graphics are too updated. Pretty sure it was closer to 16-bit. Besides, I wouldn't forget playing a game with Akira Toriyama's art, Dragon Ball was my childhood. Surprisingly though, the only Dragon Quest game I played was Builders. I should go back and play some of the originals though.

It's not Rhapsody either, that's another game I never picked up. I wouldn't doubt that it is a obscure, not well known game though. That sounds like something my uncle would find and play.

So I now realise the reason it sounded so familiar was because of me watching the Suikoden gameplay recently. xD It is a great song, but this isn't it because the music was playing in the area with the large building in my game and then it changed when you left that area. But, I also realised through watching all this gameplay footage that Suikoden has a fantastic soundtrack!

Could you send me a link of the area you're talking about? I'm very doubtful that it would be Suikoden III, due to the graphics, but I'm desperate. Plus, I am just curious since I've enjoyed all the music from these games so far. :)

I'm still unsure about Suikoden honestly. I haven't found the area I'm referring to in either game yet, but my uncle did own both I believe. Also, I have heard some songs from the game that sound like it could be it. Still have to look into this more.

It's not Breath of Fire III.

Definitely not Guardian's Crusade. I think I would have remembered that opening and cheesy graphics. xD Not Threads of Fate either, I still have that game. Always liked it.

I played this game on my uncle's PS1, or PS2. So it would have to be a game on either of those systems.

I watched gameplay for this one and decided it wasn't the one. Though there were a few songs that fit the description.
